I love going to Ortona south. There is always a wonderful group Of volunteers Campsite Host. I love the Peace and quiet up the area.

Ortona is nice....but the bath houses need a big upgrade. There's always water problems and the showers don't have a place to put your shower items. Looks like a lot of Hispanics come there and pay nothing to fish and leave their trash everywhere. Speeding thru the campground. The roads are so rough....they need fixed. It can be a wonderful place if they upgrade things.

Very nicely kept ACE park. Enjoyed watching boats go thru the locks and the fish that people were catching. Will go back again.

We absolutely love this campground. This is our 4th time coming and we can't wait to plan our next trip again. It's so relaxing and so quiet. It's a very peaceful place. Everyone is so nice. We enjoy going fishing with our family and taking evening strolls. We also enjoy going to the Blueberry Bunch Farm to hand pick blueberries and the Dollar General Market that is near by. Our family highly recommends this campground to anyone. It's a hidden gem.

We overnighted here on our way to the west coast. There was a construction project going on in the campground and we were disappointed that a portion of the campground was closed to include the south side fishing pier. When we arrived we were informed that the campground water was not potable since they did not have the test results back yet. Additionally, at this campground they have very unique dump station rules. Their rules state that if you dump your tanks on the way in, you are supposed to pay $20, and you are allowed to dump 1 time per week while camping, but blueboys can be used as needed. Luckily we arrived with a full fresh water tank and empty waste water tanks. The reminder email we received the day before arrival did not mention the construction, dump station rules or the water potability problem. There were no walking or biking trails. This COE campground was good for an overnight stay, but overall it was not up to the usual COE standard.

The cleanest, quietest, most pleasant campground I have been to in a long time. Well maintained. Nicely spaced camp sites. Great amenities at each site (BBQ grill, fire ring, covered picnic table). We saw lots of birds, including a bald eagle, just by walking around the grounds. Fun to watch boats go through the locks. A short drive to the Babcock Ranch Eco Tour, which we enjoyed and to Fish Eating Creek for more extensive hiking or kayak/canoe trip.

Very nice campground clean quiet. The place needs pet waste bags and trash cans. And the rangers are a little overzealous about parking on the grass. But other than that great place to stay.

Our stay at ORTONA was so wonderful. The waterside camping is the best any where. Our camphost JOYCE is such a wonderful person to be camping with. 5 stars for the camping and camphosts. LOVE FLORIDA.....

Small campground along the caloosahatchie river. Not suitable for families but excellent for couples and those who work from their rig who need quiet backgrounds. Verizon service is very good. Great walking /biking area.

This is a hidden gem! We read the the camp site was good but we loved it. It was tranquil, folks were pleasant and customer service was fantastic. We will definitely return, sunrise and sunset were unbelievable. Truly loved it!

Sites are spacious and level. Hosts are very friendly and accommodating. Dont know why the gate isnt open during the day (have to keep getting in and out of vehicle to unlock the gate). Would highly recommend this park. Didnt use the toilet facilities so cannot comment on them. Could not find a laundry in the park (would be nice to have one as it is not full hook up and dump station is limited).

We love Ortona! It is one of our favorite campgrounds!! It is nice, clean and safe!! We have camped on both the riverside and across the road, both sides are great!!
