Great little campground. All roads are paved and sites are level concrete pads, most are back in, which is easy to accomplish. Half are on the water side. Both sides can easily see the water. The area outside the RV door is level gravel with a sturdy picnic table covered by a metal roof. All areas have grass and the landscaping is well cared for. It was so interesting to walk to the lock and across it and watch the operation. the restrooms were clean, though ours at the east end didn't have a means to dry your hands and it was shut down mid-stay due to plumbing issues. Only observation for improvement would be MORE TREES. Some sites are well shaded, but most are not.

Very clean park, water and electric worked well. Neighbor campers were very friendly and helpful. This was our first time camping here but we will be back. We had a site off the water but there were very few bugs. We traveled 3 hours to get here from Titusville and it was a very easy trip. Camp workers were very friendly. The senior discount helped us a lot since we live on Social Security.

Great Park, very quiet and secluded. Bathrooms could use some updating

Although the pier on the campground side of the waterway is closed, this campground is still great! The bathrooms are clean, the grounds are well kept, the ranger is great and the volunteers are very helpful and friendly. We always look for to camping here.

Very nice private campground. Level, wide sites in an open field by the water. Friendly staff and a very enjoyable time.

We travel the country extensively and Ortona Locks South is one of our very favorite campgrounds. It's quiet, clean, friendly and yet not far from good eats if you so desire not to cook at your RV. Camp Hosts are always attentive and grounds are well maintained. Not a bad thing about our little getaway "secret".

The hosts at this location are top notch. Bathrooms are spotless. Communication when there was a problem excellent. Park grounds neat and well kept. There is not a bad site at this park. It does get windy so be prepared. Would definitely stay again if I could get reservations, lucked out this time after trying for 2 weeks.

Beautiful and well kept. Large, well-spaced sites. Alligators, river otters and limpkins and their offspring were fascinating to watch. Fun listening to Wicked Witch of the Locks harass eastbound/westbound boaters (marine channel 13).

The location is ideal for family’s wanting to spend a good week fishing, or biking.
Please note that even though the park is beautiful the volunteers are not very nice.
We spend twelve days and during does twelve days we were constantly being harassed by the volunteers.
If we went fishing we were called Florida fish and Wildlife without reason, and they were constantly passing by our site and checking what we’re doing
In these twelve days we noticed that even though our behavior was stellar, and there we people around us that did not follow the rules because, we are Latinos or as you say Hispanic we were treated like trash.
This is common behavior apparently for the following volunteers Joyce, and Mike they made are twelve days at a beautiful park a nightmare.
It would be appreciated if the people who are in charge of hiring volunteers when they do so they make sure that volunteers are not racist to Latinos or any race.
In general that park is beautiful but the volunteers Joyce and Mike made are stay not so pleasant.

Easy access, nice clean site, rest rooms and shower very clean. For us this was a shakedown cruise in our renovated 56 Airstream. We were more interested in how the Airstream would work. So we were not concerned with activities or what we could do around the area. I would say that this COE site is more for those who want to kick back and just enjoy being outside without a lot of extra activity . Enjoy the moment!

Great little get away from our home! Even though it was a 2 hour ride, it felt like we were far away! Staff was friendly and the campground was kept clean! Will definitely come back!

Wonderful! Everything is great!
Only wish that the gate would be open to walk over the dam to watch the boats go through.
