It is a well kept quiet park, bathroom need alittle TLC. Flushing issues. Could have been cleaned better too. I chose to use my own shower and toilet for 2 weeks since no sewer. It was do able for the price!!

Ortona is magical. Excellent hosts, rangers and clean facilities. A beautiful mix of fog rising off the Caloosahatchee River, canals with otter, alligators, Heron, Limpkin, and Cormorant, fields with egret sitting on well kept cattle, surround the campground. Nice large paved sites with gravel around the picnic tables. Lots of places to walk and ride a bike.

Very clean, and the restrooms and showers were very clean the tile and grout was not all broken up as it is often found to be in many rv sites

I stay at this campground many times a year. Its a very peaceful, clean campground with the individual spaces being a very nice size. The camp host are always friendly and inviting. Bathrooms are always clean. purchased my Senior America the Beautiful pass here, also, which was very convenient.

Very nice campground! Quiet, the sites are space apart well, and its fun watching the boats go through the locks! The bathrooms/showers are clean and well kept.

Beautiful, clean and quiet campground. We had a great spot where we could watch the boats go through the locks. Area to walk the dog. Primary activity seemed to be fishing and we caught up on reading. No actual hiking but we went to nearby LaBelle and walked around the town and though their park and that was pleasant.

Our second time here, and it just keeps getting better. Quiet 24/7, unobtrusive hosts. Plenty of boat traffic through the locks to watch. Purple Martins keep the bug population at a minimum. Ample over-the-air TV channels if you want them. Solid Verizon wi-fi. Highly recommended.

This is a wonderful little get away stop. Very interesting to learn a out the lock. Bathrooms were clean, staff friendly, and overall a nice place to relax. Not a lot of things to do such as hiking or kid activities but I was pleasantly surprised to see the little free library. They did have nice yard space so you could play Frisbee or kick a ball around.

We always enjoy staying here, and this visit didn't disappoint. We had issues with our rv while we were leaving, Mike and Joyce were very helpful in finding a space for us till we could get it back on the road. Which turned out to be a few hours. Very grateful!

This is a beautiful park and some sites have wide spacing, or bushes between them and the next. Some on the pasture (south) side of the east loop are closer, but still good.One doesn't usually find Wifi at a COE park, and I hate to complain about it. This park says it has it, but I could only find it in a 50-foot circle near the entrance kiosk. T-mobile was good, though, at 10Mbps download. There's a cell tower between the park and US80 so yours should be as good.But there is a restroom crisis. There is one restroom/shower in each loop, and the east one has been closed since January 17 for some sort of septic field problem. There is no evidence it's being worked on. In the west restroom, there are holders for paper towels but there never were any. Occasionally a fellow camper would leave a roll of paper towels. There are electric hand driers -- the one in the Ladies' works, but the one in the Men's does not. It is quite a hike from the east end to the west bathhouse, if that matters to you, and of course the half capacity means high usage at certain times.

The camp hosts were fabulous; very helpful and present but yet unobtrusive. Unfortunately the whole campground was using one restroom/shower facility as the other one was not usable. Loved watching the boats go through the lock, the wildlife and biking across the dam!

This park lets all the rifraf in with loud obscene music! They come in to fish and we were concerned for our safety and the safety of our camper when we were not on site. I spoke with the lady on duty and her response was she didn't hear it so she couldn't do anything. Of course she didn't hear it. She is parked way down from the fishing site where we were at site 30. The grass is not grass but total weeds with all kinds of stickers and bugs. We are having to defog out 40 ft. camper due to an infestation of ants! We have never stayed at such a sorry excuse of a rec.gov park!! Our service dog couldn't walk in the grass for all of the stickers! ALSO, there is an area that needs to have bright orange or yellow caution for walking on this piece of the sidewalk because it has a 3-inch drop my wife fell and busted her eye open and had to get stitches and had a black eye for a month. When this was addressed to the same lady on duty she said they were aware of this spot but there is a shortage of orange or yellow paint!!! Never ever will we camp at this place again. sincerely,David Wallace
