Great campsite. Concrete pad with stone patio. Covered Picnic table, fire ring, cooking barbecue. Only thing that needs to be done is the east end bath house needs to be repaired. It is closed. It is a walk to the west end bath house. Verizon cell service was non existence. To find a laundromat its hard to do. Bring a bucket to wash a few things to tie you over.

A wonderful campground. It's clean, the sites are level and easy to back into. The concrete driveways are very nice. We love watching the boats go through the locks. We even got to see manatees.

This is such a quiet campground with pristine, level sites. Camp hosts were friendly and helpful.

Great place to visit. Clean, quiet and the hosts are very helpful. Been there several times and have a couple more dates already reserved for this year. It's almost too good to tell folks about as it is quite difficult to get in sometimes!Thanks.

We always enjoy our time camping at Ortona South. The campground hosts were great - very helpful and friendly! The fishing this year was some of the best ever. For food, we recommend LaBelle Brewery, with great food and local brews.

Excellant experience. however, due to increased demand at almost all campgrounds and the extreme difficulty In making reservations at all quality cpgrounds it is highly recommended that at least all three Florida campgrounds be expanded, probably doubled in size if possible. Until that time Corp of Engineering campgrounds should resort to a lottery system during the peak seasons.Thank you Roger Anderson

Great site with a view and wind we only stayed 1 night. We would have stayed at this site longer, but could not get it when we made our original reservation. I did not want to change things as it took 6 days trying every morning to get the first reservation at a different site at this location. Then, this one opened up for 3 nights three months later-Bummer. When we were at Ortona this site was open for 3 more nights with no one on it, as well as site 22 by the water. Cancellations should have a fee, so people with fast internet stop locking in all the sites and then do not use them. As well, if you are not on your site within 24 hours-it should be available for other campers.

The rating would have been higher if you hadn't cancelled half of my my reservation that I worked hard to get 6 months in advance. I would think that if I have to plan ahead 6 months you would plan you projects farther out than that!!! You left a 7 day whole in my plans when it's too late to make reservations anywhere in southern Florida.

We have been able to camp at Ortona South several times. The greatest! I don't like to talk about it too much as it's so difficult to get a campsite because it is really a nice place to be. Nice size sites, fun to see the boats go by. Neat places to visit in the area.

We stayed at campsite #15 and had plenty of parking space, very easy to back into. We have camped at Ortona South many times as it is very quiet and scenic. The campground host are always helpful and professional. We stayed in a 32 ft Motorhome. We will be Back!

Very nice experience. Clean restrooms, facility in excellent condition. There is really no separation between sites, however. Being in a truck camper our living area tends to be at the rear of our rig, so we got to make friends with our neighbour! A few more shrubs would go a long way.

We love this place. Only down side is its a long drive to any beaches or into Cape Coral or Ft. Myers.
