A great place to relax and enjoy the river/canal and the various watercraft using the locks. Quiet, no bugs (early December) & excellent elec. pedestal and water on a very level and long concrete pad. I stayed in #5 in a motorhome

Quiet and breezy. The sites are well conceived, flat and spacious. My site has shade, although most do not.

Very nice COE on the Caloosahatchee. Even most of the sites with no waterfront view have a nice view of the Florida prairie adjacent to the campground. There were an abundant variety of birds to watch and it looked like those fishing on the pier and near the locks were having a good time.

The lock and dam/spillway reminds me of back home in NYS. Concrete drive is a huge plus are the covered picnic tables. Very nice landscaping. Quiet smaller campground

We love camping here. Its very well managed and clean. The only negative is , there is only one spot where you can get wifi on the whole campsite, having more wifi throughout the site would definately be a plus and well needed.

This is a great campground very well-maintained watching the boats go through the lock is really cool fishing is fun here and checking out all the birds in the wildlife is amazing. Sunsets and sunrise are perfect. I would highly recommend easy and easy out.

We very much enjoyed our stay at Ortona Lock Campground. The grounds are beautiful with tributaries flowing throughout the campground. The lock system was fascinating to watch. There are two fishing piers that are actively used by campground guests. Great fishing can be had year round. You may even spot a manatee like we did! Campground is pet friendly. ATT hotspot coverage was great.

Beautiful clean campground. Only negatives are people staying to long making it almost impossible for anyone else to visit. Then the trash was overflowing the dumpsters and lastly only one bathroom was in operation. Army corps of engineers are known to be laid out really well, this one is in the top 10. Its posted that people are using their significant others name to book the second 14 days. If they do, they should be expelled from the National Parks for life. 7 days is long enough for a camper to visit. Share the beauty for all to enjoy.

We stayed for only 1 night, but it was a very good experience. We had a late arrival, but received a phone call to make sure we received the code to unlock the gate.Smali enconveniance was the closed showers/restrooms on our si of the campside, but the short walk was not bad.We highly recomend this campsite.

Absolutely love this campground. Everyone has always been so friendly. Camp hosts actually stop by and talk. It’s just so nice and refreshing. The sites have enough space in between. The bathhouses are clean. Can we talk about watching the locks work?! It is so amazing! This was our first time that we could actually cross the locks (this is our third trip). There is plenty of space to sit in front of or behind your site. We love taking our chairs down by the water and just relax. We love watching the cows on both sides as well. This is a great place to go to relax!

Gorgeous campground! Peaceful, serene, wide camp spots provide plenty of personal space and privacy. Covered picnic tables, fire ring and standing grill at every site. Super clean facilities and friendly hosts. Bird-watchers paradise - the sunset flybys (flocks upon flocks) are a sight to behold! Beautiful Sunrise and Sunset views. Look forward to revisiting some time in the future.
