Quiet, great view of the locks and boats. Wish they would fix the bridge and fishing dock.....unhappy.

One reason we stay at Ortona South is because of the fishing pier. This time it was closed for repair. We hope the repair will not be neglected as is the case for the smaller fishing platform on the south side of the flood gates for many years! Other than that, and the closure of the foot bridge across the stream that connected the 2 loops, (which now creates a long walk out and around on the main road to get to the and/or cross the lock), the campground is well maintained and a pleasure to stay at.

It is always so relaxing on the water. Hosts are always pleasant. Did have a guest when the locks was broken so they didnt get to see the boats come through. Disappointed for them. Wish some of the spots could be saved for Florida residents. I cant get in Franklin or Ortona until May. Not right.

Beautiful, peaceful and scenic location but small and therefore very hard to get a reservation. Would definitely use in the future if available.The BurrellsBogart GaGOOO DAWGS!!

Great Campground! Well maintained and hosts were wonderful. Stayed there on my way down to south Fl and again on the way back. Will definitely stay again in the future.

Lovely campground on the Caloosahatcha River at one of the locks. Site had cement pad and covered picnic table. Great boat watching. LaBelle Brewery is a must stop. Great food and beer—patio is dog friendly. Camp hosts went above and beyond.

Reservations are impossible to get . There must be a better way so more people can enjoy. 14 days is too long when this location is so desired.A week per season per vin # is fair enough to let others enjoy. The other solution would be to build more parks of this caliber. State and national parks, in all states, are booking as soon as they become available. If theres that big of demand its time to invest in more parks. Its time we stop giving money to other countries and invest in our country.

Bathrooms on our end were not working and no repairs were attempted while we were there. The roadway in/out was terribly dusty due to dump trucks hauling out of a nearby fill site.

Nice clean well groomed sites on nice concrete pads. Bathrooms were clean, staff was very friendly and helpful.

The campground was immaculate. Our campsite looked right out at the canal. We watched boats go through the locks. Hookups worked fine.

Ortona is one of the best RV parks we have ever been to. Clean restrooms beautiful views and large campsites well spaced. Couldn't have been happier. It's a long way to the stores, so double check that you have everything your going to need. Have fun.
