This is my local "go to place in Florida!" Just need to figure out how to catch some fish. The local bait area is more than a few miles away and Walmart can't keep it on the shelves.

This is the friendliest COE we have been to! First time here but it felt as though we were returning family. Check in was easy and very friendly. Park is meticulously maintained. Camp Hosts are visible throughout the day and friendly. Not too far out of town but far enough to be very quiet and dark!! Hosts exceeded expectations to ensure our stay was very pleasant. Observing the locks in action was an added bonus. Will be making future reservations!

Loved this camp ground, but be aware that the sites are gravel so if you are a camping with a tent, you will not be able to stake it down 🥲. This campground seems better suited for RV use than tents.

Campground was very clean, camp hosts were friendly and helpful, bathhouse was clean. Overall I would give Ortona Locks 10/10. We really enjoyed our stay and look forward to returning.

The campground is pristine, as are most ACE campgrounds. Nice flat concrete pad for your RV and a big gravel area for the outdoor space. Also there is a covered picnic table.Bird watching is good, however the doves and grackles can get annoying. It is interesting to watch boats go through the lock. Otherwise not much to do there. No hiking trails.

Ortona is a beautiful CG and Day use area. Birds of many types too. Largest gator we have ever seen too.

Clean, well kept. Attendants were awesome. We forgot to let awning down and had lights strung up. He came during a storm when we were gone and secured everything! First class experience

My husband was hoping to get some fishing time in however, it was much too steep to fish unless you had a boat. Our campground was very clean except we were right next-door to a shed that had a loud blower that emitted nasty smelling air! We decided to leave and go somewhere else after a few days! Very disappointed!

As I checked in Ortona-was given page of rules. Rule #2 Always back vehicle into site. Four days camper was pulled in. Could of been there 14 days?? Rule #8. No parking on grass. Car with all 4 tires on grass for days. Why pass out rules if they cant be enforced. SAVE YOUR PAPER.The rule 14 out of 30. Great rule. But there are to many violating this rule. There has to be a way on the computer to stop people from making back to back reservations & enforce it. The corp parks are great campgrounds. Enforcing the rules will keep them great parks.Think about bringing back laundry facilities. Thank you.

Only stayed 2 days but had a great relaxing time. Friendly hosts with a ton of information.
We experienced boats passing through the lock and did a bit of fishing.
Well worth the money - $15. A night with America the beautiful pass.

Park was very clean and quiet. Only downside was due to COVID-19 pandemic Gates were locked and no visitors allowed.

we love this campground which is on the intercostal waterway, in a quiet rural area and all camp sites are spacious. it is kept very clean and net by the camp hosts. we have been staying here for years but the past few keep getting new rules which are not needed and are a knee jerk reaction to people who should just be told to leave. We have a dog and cat, both well behaved and clean up after the dog all the time as do most campers. just because one unruly animal was not controlled by its owner dogs are not allowed by the lock area where most people want to go to watch the operation and wild life their families;y members including their dogs. this should go back to the old rule, clean up after your pet control it or leave the park. also campers MUST be able to was their units when they arrive as Florida has love bugs which eat the paint off of vehicles if not removed within hours. When you pay thousands for your rolling home you have to maintain it. this should be in the printed rules you receive. Also reopen the one laundry so you can clean your clothing, raise the price if needed but you are in the woods.
