This was our third time staying at South Ortona and every time is fabulous. Theres not a lot to do there but sitting at the river and watching boats and birds is very relaxing. We will be back.

We have been going to Ortona for about 5 years now and its like our second home. We love it so much. Its so peaceful. The sunsets are so stunning. The Ranger and Joyce are so so nice and so helpful. One of the things we miss the most is the fishing pier. We are hoping it gets repaired soon. Its taking a lot longer than we thought. The recommendations that we have are that the bathrooms are in desperate need of remodeling and the smell in the water be taken care of. The water would never have an egg smell until the last couple of times we have gone. All in all this is still our favorite campground. Anyone looking for activities or restaurants to go in the area here are a couple of recommendations. Blueberry Bunch Farm you can pick your own fresh blueberries, 7 Mares is a good Mexican restaurant, Labelle Brewery, Dollar General Market has everything you need, Pelican Snowballs has so many flavored snow cones and Two Peas has fresh baked pies.

Sites are spacious and level. Bath house clean and smells fresh. No trash anywhere in the park! Great road to walk dogs made it nice for my pet too. The sunsets were amazing. Camp hosts visible and friendly. Mike was especially welcoming upon our arrival.

Ortona is beautifully sited along the Caloosahatchee River near LaBelle, Florida. The sites are generously sized, well thought out and the utilities reliable (although the water has an unusual odor, it is clear, bright and safe to drink) . There are good views from each site and the adjacent lock structure is accessible to watch the proceedings.Verizon was strong enough to stream video.Campground hosts were friendly and the facility was kept spotless.

Nice open clean campsite. Easy loop with easy parking for all sorts of RVs and Trailers. Direct surroundings are not spectacular but lake Okeechobee is not far

Fantastic COE campground with wonderful hosts. Beautiful pastoral setting and fun fishing by the lock. You are far from amenities (wal mart is 20 minutes away) but have excellent cell service which made this a great place for me to work from the road for a week

We enjoyed our stay at this COE. The showers we good, clean. We loved the big cows right next to the park. It was a small park, but nice. The hostess was very nice. We would stay here again for sure.

It was an overnight stop for us. Site was level and gravel. Water pressure was good and electricity worked well. Campground was beautiful, well kept and very clean. We will be be making this a regular stop.

This was my first time van camping, and I absolutely loved this place. Everything was very clean and well kept. The bathrooms and showers were very well lit and clean. I will be back soon!

Beautifully kept camp grounds. Restrooms and showers facilities were well maintained. Nice views of the river and interesting to watch the large boats move up and down the river through the lock. A peaceful stay, everyone was friendly and fantastic views. One of the maintained camp sites we visited.
