Shower area needs painting better shower heads. Bathrooms ran out of toilet paper for 2 days..

The location and setting was awesome! We greatly enjoyed our experience. We stayed at B4 and the only negative id share was the showers were in poor shape, water barely ran out of the shower head. But wouldnt stop us from coming back. In fact, going there in October.

Was absolutely beautiful. Clean and well kept. Wonderful people. Can't wait to go back.

We had one of the more isolated sites. It was quiet and people we met were very friendly. The restroom facilities were fine. Be sure to reserve early to get a good site. Some tent sites have no shade.

Our favorite annual camping spot!

We love Fort Pickens campground and have our favorite tent campsites. It's easy to stay active all day between the fort and the outstanding beach. Rain? Head for downtown Pensacola or the Naval Aviation Museum that recently reopened. Groceries? Gulf Breeze has a Publix and a Walmart just over the bridge. Fresh seafood? Joe Patti's is the place. They'll pack it up in ice and even give you an extra ice bag.Wish? A dish washing area for the folks not camping in RV's that already have dish washing accommodations at their site.

I didnt actually get to stay there due to an emergency closure over some rain. I never received an email about the closure and ended up driving all the way there just to have to drive all the way back home. I still have not been contacted by the park or given a refund.

Great experience. Staff was nice. Bathrooms at the campground were clean and showers had hot water. Fort was amazing, the kids enjoyed it so much and the walking tour was well put together and educational.

Nice camp ground. No store for a few miles and you have to leave through the gate via car and then wait in line to get back in order to go to the closest store. The information given from the park ranger check in doesn’t detail what to do in the event of an emergency or storm event.

For the last 5 out of 6 years I have camped at Fort Pickens Campground, always having a great experience. I even watched a Manatee swim under the fishing pier at the fort. Many attractions close by. I love the place.

This is our favorite place to camp that we've been to so far. The tent loop is so private and level and nice. And many of the sites are huge and set in a pretty sand dune environment. The bathrooms are clean and the paths to the beach and Fort Pickens are clear and well maintained. It's just a great place all around. You're right near restaurants and other activities in Gulf Breeze, but you feel like you're in the middle of nowhere at the park, in the best way possible.

This was a well maintained camp ground with good facilities in a beautiful uncrowded area of dunes and beach.

Big campsite.
They have miles of blue water and sugar sand with few people on the beach. Also plenty of hiking trails. It has become our favorite place in Florida

Admission to Park is not included with camping! This is listed only in the fine print and admission cannot be applied online.

The showers need improvement, the bathrooms have no waste bins but have electric outlets. The camp store is open seasonally and it was easier to bring in ice and firewood.

The natural areas are well kept and world class.

We had a great time. I highly recommend tent camping. Clean facilities, friendly people, etc.

The location of the camp ground was so nice had showers and bathrooms.the beach was gorgeous! Great bike riding. Beautiful birds everywhere. I would however think of not going in July. Pop up showers happen every day and it was so Humid. But that’s not the camp ground fault.

We have been camping there for 40 years (except years it was closed due to hurricane damage) and love the place. But we were very disappointed that money was spent to TAKE OUT the electricity in Loops B and D. We were told there would be charging stations so people could charge devices, but the only way to charge our devices is to plug them in in the bathroom (or use an obnoxious generator). No one wants to linger in the bathroom while charging devices plus the plugs are right by the sinks so devices are at risk of getting wet. Also, with no electricity, campers in Loops B and D can not use electric coolers. We need ice for our coolers (or again run an obnoxious generator) But with no camp store, most of us have to drive into Pensacola Beach to buy ice every day or two. So there are many more people driving in and out of the park each day unnecessarily! And of course, the decision to take the water spigots out of each campsite and then put in fewer spigots scattered around Loops B and D never made any sense. The rule about parking our vehicles on the paved pad (and not on the grass) is not enforced. If vehicles don't fit on the parking pad, they should be in the overflow parking areas. In the bathroom building for Loops B and D, only 2 of the 4 showers were available to use, which is totally unacceptable. In addition, the two showers that were available were disgustingly dirty each and every day. So, although we love Fort Pickens, we are so very disappointed with situations that are fixable. I wish the money spent on the ferry and on taking electricity and water out of two loops had been spent on improvements in the campground. Both the trail from the campground to the Fort and the trail from the campground out to Langdon need work - between soft sand and big roots poking up, it is difficult to ride a bike. We would be thrilled to see improvements.
