We always enjoy our camping trips at Ft Pickens! The Blue Angels are always amazing! The park is perfect for riding bikes and walking. And then there are all those white sand beaches!

Love the location and campsites. Only thing that could be greatly improved are the showers.

Campground is great, sites are short but I was camping with SUV tent so it was good. Walk to the gulf was a little distance but hey you need to walk. Camp hosts were excellent and helpful. Bathrooms are not modern but clean.

First of all, Ft. Pickens is a beautiful place. The campground used to be very nice. They still have very nice, large sites. It's location is great! We have stayed here previously and loved it. All facilities were very nice. BUT, things have changed. The location is still great and the sites are large. BUT the restrooms and especially the shower facilities are deplorable as well as the dump station for all loops except loop A. Even in loop A, the showers and restroom facilities are in poor condition. The dump station in Loop A is good. It appears they are are preparing to shut down if another severe storm or hurricane comes thru. There is no maintenance to speak of for the showers or restrooms. The dump station is in very poor condition and unsanitary. Would not recommend for a 2 week stay or if you need the showers and restrooms on a regular basis. Only stay what your holding tanks will allow. You DO NOT want to use the showers!

The campground is beautiful as is the Gulf Shores. Bathrooms are alright, very basic, but hot water. The only issue we had was the rude camp host couple. We were changing sites and a camp host couple drove up. We asked if it was fine to move early so we were vacated on time and nobody was in our new spot. They told us to go right ahead. An entirely different camp host couple came by to update the tags and despite multiple times talking to the woman, asking questions, etc., she ignored me. Then she scolded me for moving early. I informed her the other camp host said to move and she grunted and walked away. No acknowledgment of her rude behavior and she never answered my questions. I would avoid a campground to avoid that camp host if I could. I understand it was a wet and chilly day, but it hat type of attitude isnt acceptable and gives a beautiful place a bad reputation.

We've been camping at Ft. Pickens since it reopened after Hurricane Ivan. It is one of our favorite places to camp because of the beauty of the beaches, the quiet, relaxing campground and the interesting trails. The sunsets from the point are always stunning and a highlight of our visit. The last few years, though, things have been changing. The rules are getting more and more restrictive about the size of campers and parking, to the point of making us question whether the National Park service would rather there wasn't a campground at all. The camp hosts have become so rude and unwelcoming and the upkeep of the bathhouses and the grass has been very lacking. Also, requiring campers, who have driven hundreds of miles to get there and arrive an hour or so early, to wait in a sweltering parking lot while there supposedly are mowers in the campground, only to find there hasn't been a mower there in well over a week. This campground is a hidden gem and is such a wonderful place for families, so why are the powers that be so intent on making it an unpleasant experience?

They need to address how short the pads are. Absolutely no reason that 90% of them cant be paved 20+ feet further back to allow for modern campers

we went to langdon beach a ranger said we could park there as long as we fit between the white lines annd we didnt stick outour rv is 25 feet long, and easily fit so far so good !a different ranger came along and said we couldntt park, and we should go tol little langdon beach,ok so we moved acrss the road.the roas is broken up,and parkig area, looked like work was needed to fix ip up,the bathrooms were cloed, and no water !As we left latr on rrvs were parked langdon beach !!I am handicapped ,and can only wark a limited distance !!our site 340,was ok,excerpt the ashalt parkin pad was a 6,to7 inches higher than the lot ,not to safe in my estimation !We dutifully seperated our refuse from the recyclibuls next morning the refuse truck came in,and threw everything together.I think the speed bumpers were a over kill I never saw any budy speeding, maybe the rangers shold ticket the speeders !!We have visited the Seashore, since 1998 ,lately more money has been spent on ( what I consider more rules, insted of raising the road to avoid flooding

It seems like several things are getting better here!! We noticed that in loop E the restrooms and showers were cleaned every day, and cleaned well. A man in particular, A. Abbott, whom we spoke to, was doing an exceptional job 3 of the 4 days we were there. It just seemed that the people are taking pride in the work they do again. The camp host was very hospitable and easily approachable. Even though we pulled in after dark, the campers were accommodating. If there was one thing that is still disappointing, it's the fact that campers STILL cut through campsites. As a camper of over 30 years, I was always taught not to do that. I hope others learn that this isn't acceptable and learn to use the road instead.
Overall, we had a great time. We had other family who camped with us, they had never been here, and we were able to show them the wonderful things that Ft Pickens has to offer. Thank you for making our trip memorable once again!!

There is still damage from the hurricane last fall (damage broad walks, roads etc.). I know it will take time for the repairs to be made and was expecting damage since Pensacola was hit hard. The main problem I had was the state of the restrooms and showers in the campground. They were moldy and filthy! They were terrible.

Beautiful place to stay! Just short walk to the beach where you feel like it’s your own private beach. Campground was large but you would not know it by how quiet and peaceful it was. Stayed almost two weeks! Could’ve stayed way longer!

This was our 2 night "shakedown" run in our new C-class motorhome. We love everything about Ft Pickens. Thank you for maintaining such an amazing park. The park and all campground amenities were spotless. The campground hosts were helpful and friendly.

We enjoy everything about camping here. This is our 3 year in a row. The only issues we have are ventilation in the showers and hookups on some of the sites are not placed for convenient hookup.
