Very peaceful week. Fish weren't biting on the pier or on the beach. The showers could use a facelift, but they worked. The park was evacuated on the day we were scheduled to leave, because of high wind predictions. The parking pads on short, and it takes skill to "not park on the grass". It is one of the best places to get away from all the madness of the world.

Loved walking along the beach! There were a pair of eagles with 2 eaglets in a nearby nest, that were getting ready to fly!Met up with a number of friends from our Winnebago Trend group, was a great time!

The campground is very nice! Its close proximity to the historic fort and to the National Naval Air Museum (a must see!) , along with the beautiful shoreline makes this park unique.

We have been staying at this campground for the last 5 years. We love this campground. We enjoy biking, fishing and walking the beaches. There is also some great restaurants in town. Try Flounders and their bushwaker and keylime pie. We will definitely be back!

Nice campground and campsites, but not a lot of privacy and bathhouses need work, especially the showers. The beaches are beautiful and Fort Picken's itself is very interesting. Highly recommend visiting the National Naval Aviation Museum at the Pensacola Naval Air Station (NAS) which reopened mid-2023 after being closed for over 3 years, it was awesome. It's free and definitely recommend taking one of the tours (also free) - our guide was a carrier pilot and he was fascinating to listen too. It's my second year in a row that I've been to this campground and I'll be back, despite the showers and lack of privacy, the area itself makes it worth a visit.

I love the place: it's beautiful, facilities are very clean, beaches are beautiful and fishing is great. Staff, on the other hand are just missing in action (volunteers excluded-thank goodness for them). You can call between 9 and 4:30 and get a message that the office is open from 9 to 4:30, but you can't get anyone. The gift shop is open sometimes but not seven days a week as scheduled. I would recommend calling ahead, but you're not likely to get anyone. This trip was marred by getting scammed in the laundry by the PayRange app. It's a free app but I got hit with a $49.95 recurring monthly charge trying to set up an account. I've reported this to PayRange and it seems to be a feature rather than a bug. Take quarters. Weather is unpredictable and not the fault of the park, but my trip got cut short 3 days due to a weather event. I was rushed to pack up and get out.Fort Pickens has not kept with demand for camp sites and it is difficult to get a site. This is one huge area of needed improvement. We need more camp sites and the ability to book a sight easily instead of 6 months out and having trouble finding one then. Despite absent staff, bad weather, days of rain, and getting scammed, It was a good trip.

Fort Pickens campground was clean. The shower facilities could be better. Other than that, it's a very very nice place to stay. The beaches are awesome!

I loved staying at Fort Pickens. I camped in loop E, site 11, and my campsite was clean, level, and spacious. The facilities are basic and clean for their age. My favorite parts about staying here was the proximity to the softest sand beaches and tons of wildlife.

We had a wonderful time at Ft Pickens! The campground was a bit crowded and the sites are small so neighbors are right there, theres no privacy with sites that close together, that said the location is amazing! The sound side beach on Pensacola bay is a very short walk from the campsites and though the gulf is a little farther of a walk its not bad at all and also very accessible. The scenery is unforgettable and worth any extra effort that it takes to camp here. The weather was perfect, the facilities were clean and the soap stocked. We live close to the campground and will definitely return for frequent weekend camping trips!

We had a wonderful time, the only fault was my campsite was super close to the next camper on loop E. Biking, watching the Blue Angels, the beach, the Fort was all without walking, bike or car distance without even going back out the gates, would definitely like to visit again.

Nice campground and a beautiful area to stay with a lot of things to do, especially hiking. A lot of sites were very close together and were to small for large RV's.
Now for some suggestions for campground improvements.
Most shower stalls had no hooks to hang items from and some need benches so that you have something to sit on.
The restrooms had no hooks to hang itmes on, like hand towels and wash cloths. Also no garbage can in restrooms.
Nice item was the dish washing areas next to the batrooms with plenty of hot water.

We camped here for a week over spring break. The weather was a bit cool so the lack of shade was not an issue for us. Our camping spot did not leave much room between sites but we made due. I really wish they had sewer so would definitely recommend a poop tank if staying for a prolonged time. We loved biking to the fort and various batteries that are scattered throughout the park!! Watching the Blue Angels practicing was an added plus! We saw armadillos, turtles, dolphins, and lots of Osprey! Watching the sunset at the pass was the best!
