Camp sites are comfortably spaced. Facilities clean. Beach on both bay and ocean side beautiful. Plenty of hiking and biking trails. Fort Pickens nice historical site. Just what we wanted for a quiet getaway.

When we arrived at our site the grass had not been cut. The mens bathroom room had only one working urinal . The showers are in bad need of repair.

Lovely camp ground. However you had a septic/water problem. The problem was not with having to using an outhouse the fact that you didnt provide an adequate number of outhouses.

The campsite is a great location. You can walk to the beach from your site. The facilities are nice and clean. The bugs are difficult to manage. Mosquitos are bad at night, bitting flies and bitting ants ran us off the campsite a few times. They have strict rules around parking and will bother you about these rules throughout the trip.

Sewer lines were broken rendering bathrooms out of order so porta potties were brought in. Heavy rain the night we got there flooded the campground and the road accessing the campground. Sites were very close together and not angled well for RV backing. Along with a very narrow road this made getting into the sites difficult without driving onto the ground across the street if not an occupied with a vehicle.

Beautiful, quiet campground, but close to all the action on Pensacola Beach. We had some issues when we got there because someone else had accidently taken our reserved spot. The camp host did a wonderful job of taking care of the situation.
If you go there, don't miss the self-guided tour of Fort Pickens. It's a fascinating and well maintained fort that was in use for over 100 years.

Sand so pure and white that it looked like snow. We were there in February during a very cold spell so it felt like snow, too! The empty beach stretched for miles. We stayed in the main part of the campground. Even though the sites are open , it was quiet, and the neighbors friendly. With warmer weather and more families or large groups, the potential for noise is there. We got a surprisingly good cell signal, and could pick up internet from our hotspots. The showers were clean with nice hot water. (A national park with showers is quite a luxury!!!) We were very happy we chose to stay here, and even extended our stay rather than go to another park we'd reserved.
The fort is interesting, with quite a bit to explore. With visitor services and the gift shop closed, we weren't able to get the guide for the numbers on the fort. The signs helped to fill in some of the knowledge.
The question was "how was your experience?" and given the very cold temperature and the wind and torrential rain, I just couldn't say it was a "5." We'd love to go back when it's a little warmer!
A word of caution: if you have one of those really long trailers or 5th-wheels, you may have a very hard time getting into the sites. They are not long, people are parked right next to the road, and you may not have much room to maneuver.
