I love Fort Pickens

Fort Pickens is always a great place. Great beaches, interesting history. Only complaint is messed up sewer dump station. Park created a 2" x 10" wood dam around the dump making it impossible to properly dump a tote without sending nasty water in all directions. Come on! OK for hose from rv but many people are staying multiple days and need to dump their wheeled tote tanks.

I didn't care for my site because it was at the intersection of all 4 loops, and there wasn't any privacy. The campground itself is nothing special, especially compared to the surrounding beauty of the trees and beaches. The fort was really cool to explore. Amazing beaches, a few short trails, and interesting batteries and relics of the Civil and WWs..

Our experience was great but the sites need some fill dirt placed next to the pads and full hookup would make it excellent

We have been here several times, a nice getaway place not too far from home. The beach was great this trip, I noticed it was cleaner than in the past. My campsite was easily accessible though it was smaller this time. I would really like to see them install sewer on more sites but I know that's a lot of money and work. When you go to a place with no sewer hookups you kinda expect the bathrooms to be kept up a little better, again I know it's money, but they seem to have a lot of helpers riding around on golf carts. I usually stay on site but if you want to go to the store or out to eat it's a little bit of a drive which helps in keeping people from just driving through and visiting. The park also has an entrance fee if you are not a member which also keeps the traffic down. I really like that you can walk to the Fort without having to get on the roads and the paths are clearly marked.

The seashore is magnificent and pristine. However, the shower facilities are an absolute disgrace.

Had a great time although road was flooded and had our reservation cancelled and had to reebook it.

My boyfriend and I booked a camping trip for the weekend. It was $40 a night which was a little pricier than places we've stayed booking through Hipcamp, but all things considered, the campground is really nice! There are several bathhouses (which are very nice) and there is even laundry. The firepits are awesome (though find a place to buy firewood before coming!) and have a built-in grill that can be used on them. We spent the weekend biking, walking the trails, fishing, and exploring in general. Awesome stay and will be coming back!

Wonderful place with roomy sites and much to see and do. It was sad to see the destruction from the hurricane, but it was enlightening to see how much work had been done to open the park to guest. Keep up the good work.
One thing that is confusing....they are so many sites without electricity now. There were MANY nonelectric sites unoccupied(even on the weekend). It would seem that it would be financially beneficial to offer more sites with electricity.

Facilities were clean and generally well maintained. While the staff took COVID precautions, few campers did. Specifically while using an indoor facility. Not a rowdy place and was quite at night. Tmobile was spotty in our site (C25) but usable. Can’t comment on the RV specific features as we camp in a small teardrop camper. The water and electricity worked.
