The Rangers and host were very kind and helpful. I had left my shoes on the running board of my van to brush sand off my feet and then got in the van and drove away. Later that day when I returned to the camp ground and realized my shoes were missing I flagged down a ranger that was doing his rounds in a cart. Ge had found one of my shoes already and had dropped it off at their office which was already closed for the day. A little later he came by and presented me with the other shoe that he found in the tall grass beside the road. The next morning he delivered the first shoe he found after retrieving it from the office. Thank you! Thank you!

Shower rooms / bath rooms still need a lot of work. Seems like maintenance of showers are under funded or have the wrong people performing. Went straight to a Florida state park from there. It was night and stay. Florida state parks were very nice and fort pickens was terrible. There, I said it.

The campground was very nice. The beach and water were beautiful. What needs a lot of attention is the bathroom and shower facilities. The showers were actually disgusting. I never saw anyone cleaning them the entire time we were there.

Clean campground overall. Across from C sites, pathway to beach access needs work for handicap accessibility. Restrooms overall clean, however, they do need new shower heads and general maintenance and sealing. The beach is exquisite and I will for sure some here many more times and camp. Someone needs to tell the Whip-Poor-Wills to "zip it" at night...lol

While the showers could use clean-up and repainting, overall this campground is one of our favorites. You can go to the beach on either the bay side, or to the ocean side within walking distance. Exploring the fort is definitely one of the kids' favorite things to do but our big draw to Fort Pickins is the Blue Angel's practices. Getting to see these skilled pilots practice for their amazing show brought us back for a second year in a row during our Spring Break. There are plenty of delicious restaurants just miles from the park entrance, but if you want to stay away from the traffic and noise, there is plenty of distance between the front entrance and the campground so you aren't bothered at all by other Spring Breakers. The campground might be dated, with the size of the pull-ins and the facilities, but the environment mor than makes up for that!

We appreciate the service in general and enjoyed every stay but for one. We booked at Zion on the way to the site. When we arrived, we found that there was no bathroom, no showers, all under services or construction. Wanting to cancel, we were told that it could not be done, that there was no refund. My second comment is that is is difficult to find the sites of blm on recreation.gov. (like the one in Hurricane,Utah. But be sure that we are grateful for the services.

This is an awesome site. Lots of history, beautiful beaches. The only concerns I would have, the parking pad is a bit shorter than I thought, the showers do need the fixtures replaced, leaky and such and it does not have sewer hookup. With that said, it is worth it. I will be back. I had read some reviews where people complained about the hosts, but I never saw any of that. They were always friendly when I met them. Thank you for a great place to stay and just kick back. Also, my OTA TV antenna picked up many channels, and my Patriot Mobile phone worked great.

I really wish the park with do something with the large building that used to be the camping store. It would be nice if we had some vending machines for soda, small camping items, and snacks. It also would be nice to maybe have a ice machine installed. those seems to be a pretty big hit in that area. it really sinks having to leave the camp site every 2 days to get more.

We always love coming to Fort Pickens several times a year because there is so much to do and see. It's in its own little world out at the tip of the island and not crowded at all. The beaches are the best!

The campground is nice and host staff were very helpful. There are pay laundry services available and that was helpful as well. The common shared bathhouse showers were ok, but messy. There are no trash receptacles so there was items disposed of on the floor. It's recommended to use shower shoes, but showers were not clean. I would use them again.Restrooms were usually clean, but it looked like they were only cleaned once daily. They should be cleaned twice a day.Access to the ocean beach is just over a 10-minute walk, but well worth it. We took some of the trails on our bikes on the Pensacola Bay side and it was nice! Overall it was a great experience.

Camp site is great but its very confusing when trying to make reservations. I tried calling the phone number listed for the campground but no one answered. I tried over a span of three work days and never got any response.

Campground was decent. Good space between sites, but somewhat short (designed for smaller rigs). Our 27 travel trailer barely fit and we needed to park the tow vehicle in the overflow area. Fort was quite interesting and the sand dunes and seashore areas were amazing. Definitely worthwhile.

Beautiful location at the end of barrier island near Pensacola. Had a nice open flat back-in site but it was (literally) a real stretch for shoreline to reach the electric box which is set too far back from paved area. I barely reached it by angling my rv as far back on the paved area as possible.and there were sites that looked like even that wouldnt work. As the boxes appeared to be set too far back at most sites, I would suggest bringing the boxes at least 3-4 feet closer to each paved site when future repairs/replacements occur.

It was one of our best camping trips. The only issue we had was that the store was closed. There needs to be a store that sells firewood and just some small grocery items.

Very nice campground, great options of beaches that are clean and nice. Great hiking trails options also and enjoyed the fort.

I've camped at Fort Pickens for many years and loved it. This year however, they were overly concerned with details such as: my sisters truck had one wheel slightly on the gravel at her sight and they ask her to make sure all wheels were well on the driveway; my brother parked his jeep heading into the driveway and they stopped and told him he must back into the drive. I probably won't be going back, I've got a lot of choices on the coast without being concerned that I might be expelled from the park for these kind of violations. We usually travel in groups of 3 to 6 RVs at a time and wish to enjoy our vacation.

The park overall is very clean, Bathrooms, showers and laundry were also very clean. Although it rained most of the time we were there, we were able to go sit at the big pavilion and see and smell the beautiful water and play in the sand between rain showers. The fort itself is very neat and would have like to have spent more time reading all the markers, but again dodging rain showers. We will be back to enjoy the beautiful beaches.
