We love the park and all it has to offer. There was only one big disappointment. They had to close the park 1 day after we arrived 4 an 8 day stay due to incoming severe weather. We were told to leave by noon on day two but to watch for reopening on Facebook &/or the website to come back in probably 2 days.We found another campground to stay for a couple days and watched for information. So day 4 the park is reopening at noon. I read some comments and found that people were saying all our reservations had been cancelled!!! Not just the 2 days. I went to the website and then tried to redo our reservation for the rest of our trip but our spot was already reserved to others and most of the park was. I managed to get 2 different spaces for 5 days , but had to move. Why would you cancel the rest of our reservation unless we asked you to??Makes no sense and why would you not tell us when we were told to evacuate or in the email sent to us to evacuate?Very very poor customer service in this instance.Otherwise the park is beautiful and Pensacola has the best beaches anywhere.

We met up with long time camping friends. Sort of a pre-thanksgiving tradition. We were delighted with Blue Angel & Thunderbird practices during the week. Then the Grand Finally air show on Friday. This is a very serene place to spend time. Also a wonderful place for beach walks and bike rides to the fishing pier. Wonderful!

We had site C2 which has no shade but is close to the beach and dumpsters. All staff and volunteers were very friendly and helpful, as always. Electric was maybe 15 feet away but close enough that I did not need an extension and water spigot was right beside the rv.

Instructions are very clear, you must be parked with all four wheels on the pavement and not impeding traffic. However, what is not said, you must be parked straight. I easily parked my two door wrangler perpendicular to the camper without ever leaving the pavement. That doesn't matter. We were treated like criminals even though we followed the written rules. When I inquired where the requirement to park straight was written, the response was "well it isn't, yet". But it's cool for you to treat people like they broke known rules? Post the rules if you are going to enforce them, and get rid of that park ranger. Then it's an awesome place to stay.

I loved this location! On a Peninsula with one road in and out (under construction and down to one lane as of Jan. 2022. 10 minute waits as traffic from the other direction goes through. Although inconvenient, I have to say the men working on that road were working from early morning to 7:00 at night. They were “getting it done!” (We appreciated that)

The campground is small but well appointed with bath houses, hot showers and laundry facilities. Because this is a National Seashore, the gift shop at Fort Pickens was very well supplied and workers were friendly and helpful.

We absolutely love staying in National Seashores, Forests and parks. Very affordable. Loved it!

The weekend was a bit chilly, but great weather for hiking to the fort, bird watching on the trail and watching the dolphins play!
