Nice size camp sites and our asphalt pad was pretty level. Watch closely in rec.gov for rig length when selecting site. Parking is available in overflow areas for tow vehicles. Showers were clean and plenty hot. Will stay here again

We have been coming to Fort Pickens for years and always enjoyed the beaches and landmarks that the park offers. Great biking area and plenty of hiking trails.

Amazing beaches. Tour the Fort while you are there and walk the trails. Cell signal is weak in this area of the park.

very large campground that was completely full. we made reservations 2 days before arriving, got lucky. sites are close to each other, but didnt seem cramped. site c018 was fairly level, but with our class B van we were able to get dead on very easily. friendly rangers, that strictly enforced pet rules on the beach and leash rules hiking trail to the fort which has a very interesting history

This was our first time camping at FT Pickens. We had a great time. The facilities(bathhouse) were clean but extremely hot. A fan would be good. There were lots of trails and beach access is nearby. We would go back for a longer stay.

So cool to ride our bikes through the Old Fort Pickens ruins, and ride our bikes or walk to the beach. Great camping spots, quiet and well maintained. Will certainly Go here again.

Third time camping here. Always a special place. One of my favorite parks. Friendly staff and well maintained. Miles of white sandy beach and trails to explore. May campers enjoy the surf fishing. Great getaway National park.

Our experience was not good. Although “you can’t control the weather,” you can control how you communicate with people. The road and campground flooded, which is common at Fort Pickens. Recreation.gov told us, via email, which I did not see until 1 1/2 hours after it was sent, we must evacuate. Staff on site did not call or come around in person to tell us what was happening. I found out from another camper the road in and out was flooded and that a car had to be towed. I called the office after I read the email I received to see how much time we had to evacuate. I was told we could stay. Recreation.gov cancelled our reservations. The park staff had to frantically rebook them because people were going online and booking the sites people were already in. Most of the campground was a mess with major flooding everywhere except Loop A. Some people had to wade in water up to their calves to exit their campers. Others with young children were in flooded tent sites. Belongings were underwater. Bring plenty of food in case you get stuck there. Don’t risk damaging your vehicles by having to drive through standing salt water.

The campground restrooms and showers where hotter than hell. Had to go outside into the summer heat to cool off. The fort restrooms had A/C for visitors but nothing for camping guests. They felt like concrete ovens. The off duty campground host Benny was the best. Very friendly and helpful and made the campground a place that is inviting and like able. The ones on duty (Tim and Lee) was a real piece of work. They were very rude to my wife even with her sick. The edge of one tire was sticking over the pavements edge 1 and they wanted us to undo everything and move. I took pics of several vehicle around that were way off in the grass. Other campers were giving us similar stories about Tim and Lee. They are gonna give that campground a bad name.

We received an email that the entrance road was closed due to flooding the day prior to arrival. Since we did not receive another email the day of arrival we assumed the road was still closed. At that point we started looking for another campground for the week but found nothing. So we gambled and headed to Fort Pickens campground. To our surprise it was open. I would think another email informing us the road was open would have been the courteous thing to do. P.S. We did call and a very rude individual simply said it was closed and did not know when it would open.

Ft. Pickens campground is a nice campground, although most of the sites don't have any shade and are close together. Although I didn't use the bathhouses, they appeared to be clean. We were camped in section C, which is a short bike ride to the fort. When the Navy Blue Angels are practicing, the fort is the best place for viewing. We could walk to the beach from our campsite. The beach is beautiful!

Pensacola Beach is about 7 miles from the campground, where you will find restaurants and a few shops. For groceries, we drove across the bridge to Gulf Breeze. While we were there, the Route 98 bridge into Pensacola was closed for repairs, so to get to Pensacola you had to drive about 40 miles out of your way. The bridge is expected to open by the end of March 2021.

We would definitely stay at Ft. Pickens again.

Everything was great, checking was so easy from the moment we stop at the guard area to continue to the checking area. Just the weather was awful nothing to do with the Camp and the employees. Overall was fantastic

Really cool location. It was too cold this February to enjoy the beach and the wind howled so much we couldn't go outside. During better weather this would have been more fun. Campground was nice. No dogs on the beach!!!! But you can take dogs on the trail.

Really nice campground. No dogs on beach, which is too bad because the two dog beaches have maybe 100 feet of beach for the area. Lots of places to hike. The fort is amazing.

The campgrounds were great! Visiting the battleground was an all-day enjoyable experience. The beaches were secluded and relaxing; just the way I like it. My 2 kids 4 and 6 met other kids and they played around the campground. We also took a hike to a waterfall. We will be visiting again! The shower and bathroom facilities were decent and served their purpose, no complaints. We did not get a chance to explore the entire campground but we will when we return!
