We found the Fort Pickens Campground to be very enchanting and quiet. We liked having a beach on both sides of the island so close and easily accessible. We liked the walking paths for dog walking and visiting historic Fort Pickens so close. The shower facilities were clean and available, even though one of facilities was being renovated. We stayed in site E65 which was equidistant to all 3 facilities. The campsite staff were friendly and the park rangers passing through regularly. A warning to always carry your National Park Pass with you going in and out of the park during the day or they make you buy another one.

I wish the shower rooms are cleaner and wish there is a trash can in men's restroom.

E65 is an excellent site. Shaded, good length on pad, mostly flat ground with green grass, and close to restrooms. The campground host, on our dates, was very nice. My complaints are lack of bathroom ventilation, vehicles parking on grass, and dogs running loose on our site and at beach. No one is enforcing the no dogs on beach rule.

We were on site E65. Our site was level and shady. We enjoyed it so much that we stayed an extra night. There were only 2 drawbacks. The showers really need to be updated. They was no air conditioning so they were extremely hot. The other drawback, though no fault of the campground, was the network data. Ours worked well during the day when everyone was gone, but after about 6 pm there was little or no service.

Love the campground Caroline C. was an awesome and most helpful campground host! The view of the Blue Angels from the fort was spectacular. The trails and wild life were wonderful.

We have camped at Ft Pickins for 12 years, both 'A' loop & 'B-C-D' loops. Bath house upgrades were great but they have deteriorated in appearance, function, and mechanicals.....sad.

it was so much better when the state of Florida had it before gulf islands national park. the park rangers then were interactive with the guests. the park rangers now are just cops with guns!

Very good campground. Showers need some work. Hooks to hang your clothes on especially. Grocery stores are a long distance away so bring everything you need.

Beautiful area. Great hike and bike possibilities. Bath and shower facilities well kept up on a daily basis. Beaches are lovely.Cons - again, inconsiderate dog owners who let their dogs bark continuously and people who string lights all night long.

well cared for campgrounds, bath house were cleaned daily, laundry was conventional, trails were in good shape, and the Beach was great for walking. The Fort itself was impressive and the history it has was worth learning.. The Batteries were each different depending on the type of guns/ cannons bring used. I found everything to be convenient, comfortable to use, and relaxing. I look forward to my next visit.

Beautiful place to relax and explore. We will return (as long as the weather is not too hot). We enjoyed the hiking trails.

I spent two nights on the E Loop, site 65. It was one of my first camping experiences in my van. I enjoyed it. The site was about a half a block from the bathrooms. I did use the showers. They were old but worked fine. The weather was perfect. My loop was about a mile from the actual Fort. After arriving, I walked along the wall all the way around to the fishing pier. It was such a nice walk. I went to the Discovery center and watched a really good 12 minute movie about the Fort. I will go back another time and spend more time exploring the fort and the trails. I did walk across the street from my loop to the beach. There is a nice boardwalk Which leads to the beach.

If you enjoy remote, but, beautiful places in a sandy beach area, this is the place! It has an interesting military history as well.

Fort Pickens Campground is one of the nicest campgrounds in the country and is the 4th most camped at of all the National Parks! The staff here is polite and helpful; from the gate, to the ranger station and then to the campsite hosts. It's on the Gulf of Mexico!!! The beaches here, with their white sugar sand are beautiful! The fort and surrounding batteries are timeless pieces of historical artwork! While we were there the Blue Angels were performing out of NAS Pensacola and flew over the campground during their show/practice? It was spectacular! This particular trip we had to site hop because of an error in my scheduling skills but it was probably the best time that we've had camping because of the courteousness of the rangers and the change of scenery! We're kind of spoiled because we live in the Pensacola area and are able to visit Fort Pickens at our leisure but I would recommend that anyone who appreciates nature, the ocean, history, sunshine and friendliness come visit!

We really enjoyed camping at Fort Pickens. The park/campground was very accommodating and clean. However, the showers were disappointing, with broken rails and lights that did not light. It would be nice to have separate male/female restroom/shower rooms connected. Biking was a pleasure!

Campground is clean and well looked after by the campground hosts. While there we experienced winds and rain and the park road flooded. Ft. Pickens sent out texts to warn us they were going to close the road and the campground hosts came around to each site to let campers know as well so they could decide whether to leave or stay. Campers would have received a refund for any unused days if they left early. Very conscientious and considerate of all campers which was greatly appreciated. We decided to stay but when we left 2 days later the road was still somewhat flooded. Beware if you have a low unit.

Very nice campground little crowded. Could use a ice machine or a small camp store but I know staffing is tough.

very nice campground. well put together and campsites were of amble size. Basically quiet at night. Nice that there we no generators allowed, at least in the Loop E. Kid friendly to ride bikes.
