Great staff and the restrooms, showers, and dishwashing facilities were well maintained and clean. Great site and enjoyed how the campsites were dispersed. Enjoyed the hiking, biking, discovering FT Pickens, and nearby beaches.

Beautiful beach and lovely hike to fort, unfortunately restrooms need updating and a better cleaning schedule.

It is always a nice relaxing experience when we camp here. The only complaint we have is that the bathrooms, especially the showers, need some improvements.

We have stayed at this location a couple of times before and this time things were not as well maintained. Both restrooms ran out of toilet paper in stalls and out of soap. I talked with a camp host about this and then toilet paper was restocked in a stall but not the soap. People started bringing their own toilet paper because multiple stalls would run out. I also spoke with a maintenance person I saw a couple of days later the day we left because all soap was gone as well as toilet paper in a stall. The showers were filthy. Some were missing shower curtains -which isn't a deal breaker for me, except on the one where you have to put your stuff on the floor because there isn't a stand. The shower curtain I saw was all moldy. Notably, one of the dryers was broken and wasn't fixed during our week there. The boardwalk walking to the beach needs some repair.Aside from facilities, the staff was friendly and helpful. We enjoy the location and will probably return (with our own stock of TP) at a later date.

Be very careful in selecting your site. Our campsite was extremely short despite lots of area behind the campsite that could have been extended into a larger drive. Dont really understand why they decided to do that. We had to park our truck up the road in a very small lot. There was a larger lot to the back of the campground but it would have been a long walk from our camper. Not convenient. The dump station was very cumbersome to get in and out of. Despite all this, the campground was a great location near the beach. The fort was interesting to explore. A great place to walk on trails and ride bikes.

We had to evacuate because of possible flooding over the road to park(which didnt happen) for 2 night. Which meant you have to find someplace else to stay which isnt easy this time of year. Not easy to try and get reimbursed for lost 2 nights plus it was a lot more expensive to stay somewhere else for 2 nights

We enjoyed our visit but the bathrooms definitely need some updating and TLC. Everything else was good.

Stay was fine. Sites were clean. Some of the sites were a bit close and had a RV park feel of packing them in. Bathhouses were clean, however in the showers there are no hooks for hanging bags or clothes. Some of the bath stalls didn't have a bench seat for dressing. Also, lights were pretty dim while inside showering. Dryers in b,c,d,e loop didn't dry clothes although they said they were serviced that week. I guess no noone checked to see if work was completed. They wanted me to call the 800 number to get a refund for the $1.75. Site fees and w/d costs are almost double other campgrounds. Not worth it for this camper. I've enjoyed other CGs more for less. I guess if you want to be by the beach it's fine. I wasn't impressed.

This has been my favorite campground of all my US travels. The grounds are well maintained and the bathrooms are very clean. The setting was peaceful and the campers observed quiet hours. I loved hearing the bugler from Fort Pickens at sunrise and sunset. I only stayed one night but I want to come back soon!

Got off to a bad start. Couldn't get into the campground the first night due to flooding. Had to camp in a parking lot just outside the gate. They let us in the next day and let us change sites due to the flooding. Employees were working under very tough conditions and I felt they did a good job.

Fort Pickens is a wonderful campground.
Unfortunately the weather on most of our days was very stormy with heavy winds and rain.
Many campsites were unusable due to flooding.
The access road was flooded and impassible. Many days there was no access to the campground and if you departed you were not allowed back in.
We realize you can not control the weather and it is a big component of the camping experience.
We have heard rumors the park might be closed due to road maintenance costs. Please keep the park and road open. Camping on the National Seashore is a memorable experience.
Thank you for asking for our feedback.

I like the campground, location, and bathrooms. A problem arose after a severe wind/thunderstorm event. My site flooded. My van was surrounded by water to my ankles. OK, I understand weather events occur but there's no excuse for the terrible communication. The communication between the ranger's office and the camp reps who went around in a golfcart to assess the damage to campsites was terrible. The cart people noted that I needed a new site around 9:30AM? but the ranger's office didn't know this or they ignored it. I didn't get a new site until 2pm after hours of waiting and driving to the ranger's office 2X because the site he sent me to was also flooded. They should have texted a list of habitable sites to the ranger to avoid reassigning flooded sites to people. The procedure is terrible. The cart people should have texted that info to the ranger right away, the ranger should reassign a new site and text me directly or text that info to cart people and they could have notified me as they traveled around the campground.

Gorgeous gulf coast. Undeveloped shoreline. Easy walk to historic sites. Efficient and clean camping sites for RVs. Absolutely wonderful. Plan months ahead because sites fill fast.
