Nice, flat site for our popup. Bathrooms were clean and there's a dish washing station available right outside them. Relatively short walk to the beach on either side of the campground. We are a family of 5 and had an absolute blast. Spent the days at the beach, one at Fort Pickens, and the nights were quiet to sit by the fire and make s'mores. We will definitely be coming back.

Quiet, relaxing, everything needed for camping. Really like finding your site with no extra checkin.

Awesome place to camp! Beach is within walking distance and the bay is even closer! .

Love the campground and the people that stay there. Unfortunately weather wasnt with us on this trip and had to leave early. We will be back again love this place.

Our site was very tight length-wise... Even though we only have a 19 foot travel trailer, there was a concrete parking curb that would not allow me to back up any further. There was a "no parking on the grass" rule and I was barely able to get my tow vehicle properly parked on our site. Since we use it for storage and tailgate cooking, parking it at the overflow parking lot was not an option. Other than that, the park was nice, the fort was an interesting tour, and the beaches are amazing!

Some of the sites are small for campers but there are areas to park close to the sites. It is a great location with access to the gulf and the bay. Be sure to bring bikes for sightseeing.

So, ordinarily my husband and I prefer a campground with a little space between sites. Unfortunately that was not the case here. HOWEVER this place is gorgeous! From one end of the island to the other you’ll see nothing but natural, untouched beaches, sand dunes and nature trails. We biked and walked and climbed the whole time there. The weather was beautiful in the 70’s and sunny much of the time. The fort was an interesting place to visit and imagine yourself back in time.
For those reasons we give Fort Pickens 5 stars all the way! If you don’t enjoy it your not trying!

Very nice and maintained. Very good and easy hiking trails. Make sure you hike to Fort Pickens. We saw cranes nesting.

Open park mostly, windy there in January. Unseasonably cold this year. Clean area, hot showers were hot!
