Close to beach and the Fort. Campground was very clean and spacious. Very quiet at night. In the middle of bathroom remodel, but they are doing a great job on them. Highly recommend this campground.

Site here are very small. I saw some that would not have even fit my Toyota Tacoma. No vehicles are allowed on the grass and they check daily. Sites are open with no privacy. The walk to the fort from the campground is about a mile. Very interesting to walk around. If you like walking you can walk on the wall that surrounds the fort.

Nice but very old and beat up. For it's age, however, they do a pretty good job of maintaining it. Quiet. Helpful staff and considerate campers, mostly.

24 hours before our check in time, the park was closed due to flooding from a storm that had been forecasted several days in advance. An automatic refund was supposed to be issued as per the (3) emails we received in reference to this event also emailed in 24 hours or less than our scheduled arrival time. However, a refund was never issued. After contacting recreation.gov, I was told that I had to request a refund, and that the case had to be reviewed by the facility where my reservation was located and it was up to that facility to approve a refund as they had not automatically submitted one. So much for an automatic refund. Very disappointed that: a.) They wait to the last minute to close a park and notify reservation holders that they will be turned away when the storm that hit had been forcasted to go through that area several days in advance. We even received a reservation confirmation 48 hours before our arrival time. b.) With such short notice they only attempted to contact us by email, NO PHONE CALLS, even though they were only giving reservation owners 24 hours' notice and several of us were stuck at a locked gate wondering what the heck was going on. Not everyone has access to email while they are driving! c.) That an automatic refund was never issued as promised. d.) Two weeks later, I had to volunteer my time and do my due diligence to follow up on the work of whomever the paid employee was that dropped the ball on this one! I understand that weather events sometimes cause park closers, but you would think that the team would be a little more proactive and less reactive to a situation. Fortunately, the State of Florida has a wonderful park system and was able to accommodate us with a last-minute spot within an hour's drive. Grossly disappointed!

Ive been here so many times and Ill go back several times a year for as long as I can. The best beach, nothing but nature, and the military history is the icing on the cake. With that said, it rained almost the entire time on this last trip, and I ended up reading John Steinbeck and drinking wine. Not bad!

It was a very nice park but the campground needs more attention. The grass needs to be mowed more often and the bathrooms could use a major scrubbing if not renovation as Ive been in National Parks far better maintained. Loved the rest of the park!

We arrived late on a Friday and had reservations in another site for Saturday and Sunday. We saw the camp hosts Saturday morning on their rounds and asked if we could move to the second location since it was empty. The woman sounded unwilling and perturbed that we would even ask. But the gent said he'd check the site out and if was clean we could move. Minutes later we saw our name on the second site's number post and we moved immediately. We don't understand why the woman was so cross and the gent was so cooperative; but we heard from other campers in the same situation that she was the same cross way with them. The showers in E-section could use some plumbing maintenance - minor. The whole weekend we were there the men's restroom had an empty soap dispenser, and I saw the maintenance person(s) there to clean the ladies room. The campgrounds overall were clean and well-kept. We'll be back.

It seems like the rules aren't followed very well in this park. The rules clearly state "BACK all vehicles into site. All tires on pavement." "Pets must always be leashed. NO PETS ON BEACH"We took pictures of all the cars that had driven across the grass, weren't parked properly, i.e. had tires on the grass, one of the offenders was right next to the host! Pets weren't on leash, and we saw multiple dogs on the beach!!! In addition, we were surrounded by barking dogs all day long!! I don't understand why the hosts don't report these people to the Rangers, and the Rangers don't have the authority to evict these people!!

The campground is perfectly situated for exploring historic Fort Pickens, Pensacola, Pensacola Beach and several of the most beautiful beaches in the US. Most of the sites are spaced well and have water and electric hookups. Some of the sites are short in length so pay close attention when booking. Bathroom facilities are a little on the old side but are kept clean. There are also showers and even laundry. For as busy as this spot is I hope they update these facilities soon. There are also many walking and biking trails both to the beaches and to the fort.

Lovely campground. Very private and isolated. Love the history and time to explore. Also, enjoyed the Blue Angels. The scenery is amazing and the staff are excellent. Lots of kids but still quiet. Two hints, closest store is a small convenience store 20 minutes away. No gasoline for 12 miles and closest grocery store is 40 minutes. So come prepared. Most sites lack shade. Bring canopies to make your own shade. We will come back!

Great beach and sea breezes. Emerald blue waters greeted us each morning after the sea fog lifted. So much easier to see the stars here than in our city. Great hosts and happy campers.

Such a peaceful and tranquil environment, well maintained and managed. Exceptionally gracious and helpful associates who interacted with visitors. This was my second year in a row to visit in February, will likely book for next year as well, but my biggest drawback is lack of internet, as I need to work at least one week due to the nature of my job (cannot be gone more than one week but can work remotely). Not your problem and i know the whys, but giving honest feedback.

I feel totally comfortable staying at an RV Park under the oversight of and protection from the National Park Service. Attention to the RV'rs and campers is excellent. The sights and surrounding property are clean and well groomed and the bathrooms, showers and laundry rooms are spotless and a pleasure to use.
