We had a two night stay at Fort Pickens. The campground was in good condition and the facilities were well kept and clean. We hiked to the fort and to the battery/beach. A dog beach would be nice within the park but we were able to find one outside the park on the way to the town. Lots of space to roam and walk the beaches if you don't have a dog.

Clean, quiet, beautiful beaches. Very nice hosts and park rangers. Loved the bike trails and the old fort.

The camp host Linda real nice person doing an excellent job. In fact, all the camp post I met doing nursing job and yes, one of the most beautiful places to visit.

Well-managed campground with excellent services Best beach in the East, with all the touristy things within a short drive from the spectacular National Shore

The boardwalk to the beach was missing boards so that it made pulling a cart difficult. The showers need to be repainted and cleaned better and ventilated better. But the real aggrivation came when on the third day of our visit, it rained hard and it didn't take long before we had 4-5" of water surrounding the three sides of our pad. On the fourth day it was worse as it was coming onto the pad! We couldn't walk anywhere outside without being in 5" of water. Now, I know the park service cannot control mother nature. But, and this is a big but, they can control irrigation. They can do a lot to control the water flow on that property, they just don't want to. We talked to a campground host who told us they are very aware of the issue but they actively do nothing to make things better. They told us that the park manager is not a camper and doesn't understand camping at all and is a complete dolt. Their words, not mine! The irony of it all is that the campground tells you over and over not one inch of your tire can be on any grassy part. Your camper and vehicle must be on the concrete pad. They will come make you move if you violate that. So, you would think they are concerned about the erosion of their grounds, right? Yet, they do nothing to control the water flow. And, btw, because the water stands and doesn't drain quickly, green slimy areas exist and we actually saw someone slip on it! This water standing situation is going to eventually lead into someone getting electrocuted. Do you really want that??

I would like two days refund on my trip if possible because we were camper bound for two days and pulled out one day early because of the miserable circumstances.

Me or my husband will be glad to talk with someone. You have our number.

Excellent campground. Wonderful trails from campground to fort and to natural areas. Tour of fort a must do. Highly recommend ranger lead tour or easily downloaded app for very useful information if you do self guided tour. Both are free. Boardwalks to beautiful uncrowded beach.
Nice bike lanes and very lightly traveled roads for longer rides.

We had a wonderful time, the only issue we had was that we didn’t have enough room to park our pickup with our 35ft 5th wheel and had to use over flow parking

Bathrooms a bit dated. Many sites too close together. Site I was at was pretty muddy. A bit of a long drive back in there, and Rec.gov site did not have alerts on cautions coming in from far east end of 399 that they were recommending no RV's travel that part of the road going west. Otherwise a great location and price.

The beach was great, but did miss the facilities that were closed. Hope that they will be open by our next trip. Our site was a mess due to the rain, but we are still glad that we were there. The trail to the fort was compromised by mud, so was a little sad that we couldn't walk all the way to the fort, but again because of the heavy rainfall. Other than weather related issues, we love Fort Pickens and will return again and again.

The dirtiest bathrooms and shower I have ever been in my life. Every single shower has BLACK MOLD! There is not sewage either. Very disappointed.
