Great location and plenty to explore.

Fun place to stay. Fairly remote. Short walk to beach and Ft. Pickens. Restroom, shower and laundry facilities were nice (old but maintained). Real sticklers for keeping rig and vehicle on paved path at all times (tires cannot be on dirt). Dump station needs some work (it is on the way in not on the way out).

Beautiful access to the ocean! Showers were nice & warm. Good opportunities to bike.

Location is remote on a peninsula that is breathtaking. There aren't views from the campground of the beach, but beach access is a 10 minute walk away. Lots of fauna around and great set up for camping. Bathrooms are clean and they even have a nice laundry.

Enjoyed our time here. Its a beautiful if long drive out to the campground. We walked along the beach and then went into the primitive hike that is for the primitive campsites. It was a great way to break up the beach walk and get behind the dunes. Really lovely beach and amazing sunset

Me and my family have been going to Fort Pickens to camp every year since 1992. It has always been amazing! Very family focused, very comfortable and relaxing just as it should be. But for the past 2 years it has been HORRIBLE!!! We get chewed out when we check in, we get chewed out by the camp hosts, as soon as we pull up to load our truck to go to the beach, we get told you have to move NOW. Theres absolutely no reason to treat people how everyone is now being treated. We spoke to several other campers and they all said the same thing..what happened to the wonderful family experience?? Now if you dont have a 20ft or less camper, they refuse to allow you to camp! Your pull vehicle and camper must both stay on the concrete which means if you have a pickup, you cant have a camper greater than 20ft - which DOES NOT accommodate a family of any size - practically a couple only. Our kids are now adults with kids of their own. We got a camper to accommodate everyone comfortably but I was basically scorned and shamed for that action and told I should cancel your reservation and send you home! Made my vacation miserable for the first few days..until I decided I wouldnt let them ruin my trip! Unfortunately unless my husband and I travel alone, and get a pop up or very small camper, we wont be back, because WE ARE NOT WELCOME and definitely fell that we are unwelcomed!! So sad..this is our familys history and it was stripped from us..Beautiful beaches, wonderful history, and we will always visit the Fort, but will no longer be able to camp at our second home..

Great campground but a few things to keep in mind: The parking on your site is very limited! You may not be able to even part your vehicle on site if you can't back it straight in and keep on the pavement. They are VERY strict about this. I was able to back in at an angle and must keep all 4 tires on the pavement. One of the host said I was fine but another said can't park at an angle even though all 4 tires were on the pavement! Not sure why not as it is the same as backing straight in?! I was off the road and NOT touching any of the grass! If possible would like the park to allow with all campers as long as all of your tires are on pavement it should be ok!? If not, why?

We have enjoyed many trips to Ft. Pickens over the years. But this trip was a challenge. Our space had a huge mud puddle in front of our door. We spoke with the guest host and two different grounds keeper to bring sand in. We were assured they would take care of it. Finally on the last day a nice ground keeper did bring in a bucket of sand, they he realized he needed much more. He said he would be back. Never saw him again.

A campers paradise. Sites were rustic but adequate for us. Good space between sites. We appreciated the nature trail leading to the beach. It was gorgeous. It’s hard to get a reservation here so plan early.
