Make sure you have room to park your camper and tow vehicle or motorhome and toad. Very strict about being on the asphalt.Great for going to Fort Pickens and walking to the beach.

This is a wonderful facility for families. There are beautify beaches, local fishing, and historical monuments all within walking and biking distances. The campground has bathrooms, and showers as well as laundry facilities. The staff were very helpful, informative, supportive, and friendly.I'd recommend Ft Pickens to anyone looking for a nice, relaxing place to camp and unwind.

We usually come multiple time per year. The facilities are normally clean and good but they have really let the campground run down. Bathrooms stayed filthy for the entire week we were there and when we finally saw someone cleaning them the last day, we were happy. Only when we went inside they whipped down the sink but the toilets were still covered and nasty like they had been all week. Definitely not what we are used to at this campground.

We stayed 5 nights; most sites are level, drive in is beautiful. We stopped at Joe Pattie's fresh seafood place on the mainland on the way in. Ate fresh seafood all week yumm. Stayed in Section C 2 days and Section E 3. Not a lot of difference in any sights. Walk to the gulf beach was about 1200 steps. Took our beach chairs and spent the afternoons enjoying the waves and walking the beach. Spent mornings exploring - Fort is cool, Blue Angels practiced one day, and we watched it from the fort area. Very cool! Also visited the Pensacola & Navarre piers along with the Turtle rescue place one morning. Blue Angels Museum another. Lots of things to see and do in the area. Great place will be on our go to place for every fall / October. Not too crowded and weather was terrific went in the ocean daily water temp was nice. All in All a great relaxing time!

Extremely well kept campground and blissfully quiet except for the peaceful sound of the waves. The sites had sufficient space between them so we didn't feel crowded. Would advise paying attention to the description of the site you are reserving as the RV sites can be short, so longer rigs will have a challenge parking without blocking the roads, however overflow parking is available and relatively close. It can get busy at the gate during check-in time, which is strictly enforced at 2:00 pm. The camp hosts as well as the park personnel were friendly and very helpful.

We had a great time
Two things that I would advised others is if you park facing south you will not have any shade
The other is the campsites themself where not mowed so you are standing in a good 6-8โ€™โ€™ of grass that bugs like
Other then that check-in was a breeze and bathrooms where clean
We definitely will be going back in the fall

Loved our experience at Fort Pickens. We were a little apprehensive about camping in a โ€œfieldโ€ as we had seen references to loops other than loop A. We were in loop C- not a field! Trees are missing but have been replanted in some areas but we were pleased with the size of the site and the set up. We stayed at the beach most of the time. It was a 20 minute walk but was very clean and few people. We will definitely return.
