We stayed in campground A, it is very nice and clean. It has decent showers and a nice laundry, dishwashing area. The camp hosts were nice and friendly. The trail to walk to the other ground ground was nice, I appreciated the benches to rest. The boardwalk to the beach was also nice. There is a lot to see, the gulf of Mexico, the fort, overlooks and beaches were all enjoyed. If you are a walker, there is a lot to see. The website warns of low hanging branches, which was fine for us. The trees were nice and the birds were enjoyable to watch. The town itself is a little ways away and is very limited on shopping, yet has lots of evening entertainments spots. The closest grocery shopping was over a toll bridge, but the cost of that is minimal.

Been camping here since I was a child, still one of my all time favorite places to camp. Love the beautiful, clean and quiet beaches. Day use areas are really nice. Bike trail is easy riding and enjoyable. Registration and check in is now on line, so no stopping at the Visitor's Center. Really love this place.

This is a great campground! Clean, nicely laid out, great camp hosts. My only suggestion would be to alert potential guests to the fact that theres a toll bridge required to access the island from Pensacola. This is in addition to the $25 Gulf Shores pass.

All was good. Clean restrooms and showers, excellent access to both the Gulf and Bay beaches and the host was nice and accomodating.

The campground is wonderful and we have stayed there many times. The only negative of our recent 5 night stay was that the bathrooms and showers had not been cleaned/maintained in some time. However, part way through our stay they were cleaned which we appreciated.

Nice week of spring break. A short walk to the beach for sunset each night. We really like it here. This site is fairly private since there are no neighbors on the awning side of the site.

Perfect location for great beaches and fishing! Some sites have shades if you're lucky. Nice and adequate facilities.

Wonderful campground with plenty to do if relaxing and just chilling at your campsite or going over to the perfect, white sandy beach/shore to catch some relaxing waves and beautiful scenery. We wanted to be come back before we even left!

We had a great time even though our trip was cut short due to bad weather and flooding. Advice to others, always be prepared to have to leave. Fort Pickens Campground is in a low lying area and massive rain amounts do cause flooding. Other than Mother Nature, we had a great time!

We always love camping at Ft Pickens. The beach is close and so beautiful. We were lucky enough to see the Blue Angels practice. That is always awesome! Can’t wait to come back 🥰

Beautiful location. Campsites are large and well maintained. Short walk across boardwalk to the white sand beach. Registration was easy & efficient. Lots to do. Beach location at the actual Fort Pickens is a perfect spot to watch the Blue Angels on practice days. Could not get a more perfect spot. 1 hour drive to USS Alabama (battle ship) & USS Drum (submarine). Really enjoyed our 6 night stay. Will return.

Loved this campground, primarily because of it's location. The beach was beautiful, and because of its location, was never crowded. The campground was pretty and well maintained as well.

This was out third time to camp at Fort Pickens campground. We previously stayed on the C and E loops and had an amazing time. This trip howerver, not so amazing. We have a 44' fifth wheel which is 13'3' high. The booking website stated we would only fit in 9 sites in the A loop and 1 site in the C loop (which was already booked) Three years ago there were far more options in loops C-E and the sites have not changed. While pulling my unit in the middle of the roadway around loop A, I struck a tree branch on my roof, tearing my roof, breaking off my KingJack antenna and damaging my AC unit and left the AC shroud hanging in the tree. Park maintenance retrieved my shroud from the tree and stated the clearance was at least 13'6''. I'm 13'3' to the top of my AC and it hit my roof! He also stated it was hard to cut back branches due to needing permits. The camp host stated to me that several people have hit that tree branch, with a camper having his satellite unit torn off the day after my mishap. I understand wanting to protect the trees, but they should at least be marked with an identifier. There is another tree on the same loop which is marked with orange stantions to alert you to the possibility of hitting the leaning tree. We love the area and would love to continue camping at Fort Pickens, but not in the A loop. I would like to see Receation.Gov reclassify the sites on the C-E loop,
