Very nice shady campground. People go to bed early so great quiet time. Bathrooms have flush toilet which is a plus. Showers are ok, not all have a bench in to set you things on.

We love camping here. Our complaint this time was how Recreation.gov handled our reservation when we had 6 nights left, but were evacuated due to a forecast of winds and high surf. We were told at the campground office that they would send us a refund on request after we knew how many of those nights we would miss due to park closure. But the next morning, the day we were told to be out by 10 a.m., we had an email showing a refund for the remaining 6 nights. So we assumed the park would be closed for the duration, so we found someplace else to camp, though not nearly as appealing. Then we looked online the day after the "storm" missed Ft. Pickens and found the park had re-opened but our site, A-12, was taken. We booked it exactly 6 months out in order to get a site for two weeks, and we were very disgusted with the park's handling of this event. I know it was easier for them to just do blanket refunds to all who were evacuated, but that's not what we were told would happen. A personal phone call to ask if we wanted to come back when it reopened the next day would have been the courteous way to handle it, and then refund if we weren't coming back. With a 32-foot rig the sites are very limited, and we planned way out in order to have one for two weeks.

Park and facilities were well maintained. Trails to Fort Pickens were great, spotted several eagles and other birds during our hike. Discovery Center and Fort provided wonderful interactive experiences. Walk to beach was also a great amenity.

Great place. Will definitely be back. Verizon worked for the most part. Site was level. Great place to ride bikes. Worth visiting the fort.

Great campground with close access to trails and beaches. Too cool to swim after October passes but great for hikes.

Campground was great! Walk across the road and you are at the beautiful beach. The historical Fort is very interesting to walk through. A bonus was watching the Blue Angels performance!

Two of four showers out of order. Camp host in A13 did not stop A11 from burning plastic. Camp hosts sites look like the town dump. Camp host in a13 has yippie dogs outside all day. Camp host show off duty for entire stay even though they were riding in camp host cart. Grass needs cutting. Camp hosts let non-campers monopolize bathrooms and showers on the weekend. Camp host do not notify campers their vehicles are on the grass or across the driveway.

Campsites are fairly short and close together. Pay attention to length because all parking must be on blacktop or tow vehicle will have to park away from your site. Nice bike/hiking trails, beaches are spectacular! The Fort and other military installations are interesting. Stayed in mid March, weather was OK, 30s to 40s at night 50s to 70s during day.

Really enjoyed the hiking, biking, and sunsets at Ft Pickens. Jerrys on Cervantes in Pensacola is a must for fried mullet. Debbie grew up in Pensacola so she knew her way around. Well be back.

The campground was clean. Rangers were helpful. Registration manager could use better PR when new employees are learning. The camp host, Mr. and Mrs. Sparks were outstanding. Through our 30+ years of camping the Sparks were one of our top 5 hosts. We will be back. Thank you.

beautiful park that is reopening after the Hurricane season of 2020. Loop A is by far the most private loop and has plenty of spots with shade. relatively speaking that is, you are about 1/8mile from the beach. I dont think they have too many RV spots with Full hookups, and the restrooms are minimalist, due to the harsh nature of the salt/beach environment. Camp store is not yet open, but most beach access and the fort itself is open(sans gift shop/visitors center). we were able to easily fit a 36 ft class A into a back-in spot. will be back.

Beautiful campground close to the beach. Some of the sites have low branches so make sure of your clearances before reserving.
