Excellent campground located in an awesome part of the US, the Gulf Islands National Seashore. Short stroll to the beach, excellent hiking, biking on shared roadway and the history of Ft Pickens. Well worth the time and expense driving there. The interior of bath houses could use an update. Mirrors are faded, benches not present in the showers, timed faucets not working, etc. Nothing that could not be addressed in short order.

Loop A is a 5 minute walk from the beach. It doesnt get better than that.

Beautiful area. Sites were nice. Camp host was pleasant. Neighbors were friendly. Would love to come back. We enjoyed biking around the area and The Florida Scenic Trail too!

We stayed for eight nights in Loop A and walked to the beach several days to watch the sunset. We walked or rode our bikes to the fort almost every day. We also biked into town twice (15 miles round trip). We had a wonderful tail wind going to town but a fierce headwind returning!! We attended two ranger talks which were very informative. The bathhouse was kept very clean, and we appreciated that there were laundry machines available. We hope to return sometime.

The rating would be five star if repairs from storm damage where completed.
The walkway from Loop A, to the beach was closed forcing users to follow path created along board walk. Other beach use facilities were also closed, too. with limited porta pots for use. I understand damage was from the last Hurricane.
Since the bay bridge is still out it's a long time for detour due to traffic you should allow an extra 45-60 minutes for detour.
We were on Loop A and bathrooms and showers were hot, really! and very clean, too. Bathrooms and showers were cleaned and disinfected daily.
Thank you!

Arrived on April 17th to find the gate closed without being notified.
I understand the place got flooded due to storm but not to be notified of the closure is unresponsive. I still haven’t been refunded my money. We boondocked with 25 other campers in the public parking lot. I will never return to ft. Pickins again.

Beautiful Beach. About 9 miles of undeveloped beach. We had a wonderful time riding our e-bikes along the beach bike trails.
