The workers and the hosts were super!! Maybe a weekly calendar handed out to campers letting them know what is going on so they can either go to or avoid those areas. We had a welcomed surprised to find out we were there for the Blue Angels. I noticed a number of campers/RV's were having a very tight fit--so when making reservations people really need to know what size will work. The drive pads (as stated) must include camper and vehicle. If not there are parking areas throughout the campground to park your car/truck. Being off season it was a long drive every day to get ice and try to find wood. I am not sure if there is a camp store open during the in-season. I would recommend bringing in a good supply of wood. Cannot help the ice thing. Wish there was a truck that drove through park selling ice and wood daily.Reserve early, is worth it.

Pretty average ocean campground. Grassy campsites with little visual isolation but a decent distance apart. Quiet, apart from daytime military jet flyovers. Good access to hiking and a short hike to the fort. Flush toilets, water points, even warm showers. Better than the average NPS campground.

Large campsite, wonderful holiday atmosphere. Natural wave soundscapes to go to sleep with. Walkable to both sides of the beaches. Impressed that there's a dish washing station!

Two girls mistakingly took my camping spot which was no big deal so I camped in a nearby vacant spot. The Ranger was adamant about moving all of us b/c another camper booked the vacant spot I was in "up to six months in advance" for only one night. I suggested we swap spots but was told that's against the rules even though the other camper was there for only one night and I reserved my spot only days in advance. He was in a teardrop camper so I don't understand why things weren't more accommodating since he was willing to be flexible also and there were at least three empty spots in our camping loop. Even the airlines are more accommodating for passengers to change seats, why can't government camping Rangers take a lesson from them?

My wife and I thoroughly enjoyed our stay. The beaches are absolutely beautiful with the snow white sand and clear blue water. The water was a bit chilly in March, but I went in anyway. I was not going to let the cold keep me away. I drove to far not to take a plunge in that crystal clear ocean. The water was calm and could walk out really far up to my waist. We would love to return one day.
