This is one of my favorite campgrounds. The campground is a short walk to two different wonderful beaches. You can enjoy the beach on the bay side and/or the Gulf of Mexico. The Park Rangers do a wonderful job sharing the history of Ft. Pickens!

We had to leave the park 6 days early due to in-climate weather. We were told there would be an automatic refund of our stay for as many days as we could not be in the park. The website updates said it would be closed through the 13th, which was our last 6 days. We made reservations for the days we could not be in the park, including the 13th for other facilities. On the 13th morning they changed their closure to open at 1:00 pm. I left a phone message with the Fort Pickens staff to discuss why i did not get a refund for the 13th, no call, no refund for that day. I also had to call the main line to get my refund for the 5 days, not automatic.

Campground is in a great location with the beautiful beach a short walk away. We stayed in loop E and were able to see the Blue Angels show by driving to the fort at the end of the park. We have a Class B and had no trouble with the length of the driveway, but it would be helpful if the driveways were extended as there was plenty of room behind the sites and many larger campers would have an easier time fitting. The showers by our site are long overdue for renovation and were nasty dirty all 3 times we used them.

Love the trails. Site was in good shape, bathrooms pretty clean. Even with 2 rainy days I wasn't disappointed. I will undoubtedly stay here again.

The campground host was a difficult person. She should have it been selected to deal with people on vacation. Other than that, our experience was awesome. The representative at the registration station was wonderful. She was understanding and very helpful in finding us a spot for the weekend. She was very different than the host who was negative and offered no help. We enjoyed our visit despite the negativity of the host. Love Fort Pickens and the government workers there.

Very nice park , very clean and nice host . The ground keepers done a very good job of keeping the grass cut even with all the rain.

This is our favorite campground to go to every year on vacation. We like how close it is to the most beautiful beaches on the coast. When we went last week in May there was flooding rains and many sites were under water. The main road into the park was flooded so check weather report before arrival. There is a dog beach about 2 miles from campground and Pensacola beach has several places to eat.

We always love staying at Fort Pickens! All the campsites are great, restrooms are clean and staff is always friendly and helpful. I would highly recommend this to everyone, though by doing this, there will probably be less room for us.

My sister and I camped for the Blue Angels Homecoming performance. We thoroughly enjoyed the park! The bathroom in Loop E could use some updating but other than that, it was an excellent park!

When I got to Ft. Pickens I was very excited to camp there. Check in was good the lady was very helpful and kind. However, I was very disappointed with the camping grounds and the park host. The park rangers and staff were wonderful, friendly and helpful however, while setting up my tent a "park host" accosted me twice, yelling at me from his golf cart on the street because the tires of my truck were not on the pavement. At the time I was by myself and waiting for the rest of my party to arrive so they could assist me to line up my truck but this man and his partner insisted I move it right then. Then he proceeded to move his golf cart in front of my truck and blocked me in so I could not pull up. It was quite disturbing and totally uncalled for. Then he Sat there until I turned my vehicle off.. when I got out of my truck he yelled that if my sisters car would not fit on the parking pad she would have to move her car to the overflow lot. Now I have been visiting Ft.Pickens for 45 years but this is the first time I decided to camp there and I was very excited. The "camp Host" turned it into an embarrassing, uncomfortable situation that I never want to experience again. The next morning I noticed that this person's vehicle was parked in the grass but also his golf cart was in the grass. It was awful, the showers were dirty and the lack of privacy, peace and quiet, and lack of courtesy from the host was enough to make me say I will never stay there again. But I will always love the beach at Ft. Pickens.

We had reservations for 6/21 thru 7/5. Claudette hit the gulf and closed Fort Pickens for a few days into our reservation and they canceled our entire reservation.

Beautiful campground on the unspoiled southern tip of Santa Rosa Island. Very clean restrooms and bath houses. They also have laundry facilities. The hosts are all nice and helpful. We stayed 10 days and had a great time. There is fishing off the pier, a museum, and a walking tour of the old fort.
