We enjoyed our stay at Fort Pickens! The campground is well cared for and there are plenty of trails and beautiful beaches to explore. It will be even better when the bathroom renovation is complete.

We have been coming to fort pickens for about 5 years now and have loved it from start. The beaches are beautiful. And you have more then one to choose from. There campsites are all different some more private and some more level then others . We love campsite 40 loop E. Loop A seems to be more popular. And after riding through we could see why. Campsites are definitely more private. It might take going a couple of times to find the right spot for u. But you wont be disappointed. And like us you will want to come back every chance u get.

Got to see the blue angels practice two days in a row. Very exciting adventure. The Gulf was still a bit chilly but gorgeous. Will definitely return.

Site was good and well maintained. Bath house on Loop E was less than desirable. No hot water in one shower, broken seat in another and no shower curtains.

We will definitely go back to this place!! We will try to get in Section A, as it is closer to the beach, but we rode our bikes to the beach and that was OK. Beautiful beach, beautiful property. The campground was clean and quiet and there was plenty to do. We were scheduled to stay 3 nights but a storm came through and flooded so we could only stay one night but we will be back to stay for a while. I took so many pictures of the fort and of the sand dunes and the trees. It was beautiful! The trails were super great!!

We really enjoyed our long weekend camping at Ft. Pickens. We are locals but had never camped there. Beautiful area and gorgeous weather. The sites were clean, bathrooms were clean. We have a pop up a-frame camper without a shower so used the campground shower. The floor had a lot of wet sand and it had no where to put your things so we took turns holding the others clothes and towel so our clean clothes and towel didnt get soiled. There were a lot of fire ants at our site and my husband got bit up pretty good setting up our shade shelter. Overall it was a great experience and we would come back again but try to get a site not so close to other campers.

I have been coming to Fort Pickens for years? What is with the "camp host park on the grass Nazi's"? People need to load and unload their vehicles and it is not plausible to do that in overflow parking. BTW, the overflow parking is grass on the E-Loop and there is no damage, and it is constantly full. In addition, the camp host Gestapo drive and park on the grass with their electric vehicles so obviously the grass does not mind that! Please fix this! The campers will thank you and the grass won't care.

Been coming here for many years. Reserve early. The beaches are gorgeous and perfect for those getaways. Bring your ice and goods since the closest place is a convenient store 8 miles away outside of the park. At 25mph it can take a long time. The campground hosts are ever so friendly. Important note moving forward in 2022. PLEASE READ CAREFULLY the NEW RULES AND RESTRICTIONS regarding trailer length. If you show up they may cancel your reservation if you have a pull behind trailer and vehicle that will not COMPLETELY fit onto your designated site AND your reservations were made after FEB 2022. They are not allowing cars to park sideways anymore in front of their trailers so unless ALL your equipment can fit lengthwise onto your site you may get turned away on arrival. This is unfortunate but CLEARLY spelled out in the rules and we saw it happen in April 2022 for people who made their reservations after Feb 2022. The overflow parking is not allowed for tow vehicles that are pulling trailers. If you specify you have an RV but are towing a trailer that will not fit your tow vehicle and trailer you may be turned away. They are getting serious about this issue (erosion and congestion) until they can get the improvements completed to make the aprons longer and wider and improve the parking situation. Not reading the rules is no excuse and I did not like them either but I was grandfathered in since I made my reservations in January. Moving forward I will not be able to come here in my trailer any longer since my truck and trailer exceed the maximum allowable length. 30 ft trailer and 20 ft F150. Not sure when that is going to change but that could ruin a vacation for not reading. Don't think you are the exception and can argue your way through because law enforcement may have to intervene and I personally would not want federal charges for getting testy or argumentative with a volunteer or park staff and they will call if they need to.

We loved the campground! I understand why new 32 foot length restrictions will be enacted in 2022. It was sad how the BIG rigs drove off the paved areas and tore up the grass. The sunsets are outstanding and the Fort is very interesting.

We enjoyed our time here. Surrounding area and attractions are amazing. The campground was kept clean and was well managed. The showers were clean and provided HOT water. Location is key here....

Very friendly staff. Campground was very clean and quiet even though it was PACKED. Lots of vehicles parked along the roadways. We had to use the overflow parking for our vehicles as the camp pad was only long enough for our camper, but that was okay as it was very close. The driers in the laundry weren’t working so we had to hang everything to dry, but the washers worked great, so that in itself was a blessing and we didn’t mind hanging out stuff to dry. My only complaint were the showers. We were in loop E and the showers were disgusting. There was mold. Hair. Gross. They need an overhaul. They need new paint and redone. The bathrooms on the other side of the same building were fantastic tho. And a nice outside dish washing station was there for use. The showers in loop C were much better so we just chose to start using those instead. Excellent access to the beach and an easy drive down the road to the Fort. It was a wonderful experience overall. Thanks so much!

I have loved visiting this park over many years. I’m sad to say, it seems the park is getting run down. Not just due to the Covid problems. Three years ago the park was not in very good shape either. It is such a beautiful area. Wish it could be turned around the other direction and be brought back up.
