Historic fort's landscape and remaing structures were exceptionally preserved and very intesting facts posted. Wonderful week in the campground. If at all possible, try to avoid inner sites at end-loops. Many other campers walking very close by without much privacy. Glad the camp hosts made several mid-loop sites unavailable, to allow for mid-loop campers to have shorter walks to the available restrooms.Enjoyed several walks along the beaches. Doggies are permitted on beaches under the campground authority.

Bath and shower facilities were in poor condition and not maintained. Serious electrical issues such as rusted out electrical boxes below hand dryers in bathrooms exposing electrical connections to water and creating a potential shock hazard. Mold, mildew, and peeling paint in showers that looked like they hadnt been properly sanitized and painted in months, if not years. Broken handicap bench in handicap shower and broken door openers. The 30 amp outlet on our spot didnt work and the power and water went out while we were there resulting in even worse bath and shower houses. We hadnt stayed at fort Pickens campground in several years after the length restrictions were placed on sites because I couldnt find a spot available to hold my truck with our 30ft camper. We didnt want to risk pulling it 13 hours only to be turned away. We finally returned with a tent this time and showed up to find people had even larger campers and vehicles parked every which way with some even sticking out into the road. Clearly the restrictions were a scare tactic which effectively scared away the people who try to follow the campground rules and are no longer enforced, if they ever were. The pier at the fort was disgusting with trash and rotting bait/fish everywhere as it looked like half the fisherman appeared to be attempting to catch their dinner for the night and just throwing trash and scraps around. We were stopped by a ranger on the beach at dark near the jetty and asked to show our reservation to ensure we were camping in the park which was a first for us. Overall, I couldnt believe the decline in the park and campground in the last 10 years. Could it be blamed on funding? It is the cheapest 1 week camping reservation that Ive made in the last 10 years and a price increase might help fund much needed repairs, staffing, and improve the customer base.

I was disappointed with the cleanliness of the bathrooms. They were in very poor shape compared to my visit the previous year. The stalls and toilets were filthy. The showers werent much better. The one I used was pretty dirty and the shower knob was barely functional. The sites were clean but the two tent rule is silly. We had 5 campers and 3, 2 man tents. We were told to take a tent down. We were in our space taking up less room than two 10 man tents. I could understand if we were overlapping into the site next to us but we werent. The bay side beach was covered in trash that had drifted ashore. I carried back as much as I could. I would think that they would keep it clean, even if its just the section between trail heads.

Campground was very clean and nice. You have the Fort Pickens just feet away that everyone needs to visit. Beach access in several location. Only thing we had a visitor an eastern rattlesnake Very beautiful and healthy guy. So just be careful where you walk. Park attendants are great as well. Looking for to going back in September.

We had a great time at fort pickens! The beaches are beautiful and easily accessible from the camp grounds! My only conplaint is the bath houses need a serious update. The water didn't get above warm in one of the showers and it was near impossible go get kiddos clean and dressed in there because there was no where dry. Other than that the sites were nice and people were friendly!

Camping was canceled due to road flood prior to April 14th but I was never notified that park was reopened on April 14th.
My husband and I were tried to talk to someone in campground register office on that weekend but they were closed for lunch. We didn't go back to the office to discuss it. We didn't get the refund neither. :(

It was nice until they waited until the morning of my moving to another site to let me know that they were closing due to hurricane Ian possibly coming close by. I think they jumped the gun. It ruined the rest of our vacation.

Great campground with wonderful beaches. The central shower room needs benches and hooks. Who designs these things?

Great weather and beach.

To many sites to close together.

Spend some of our money on our campground and remodel. Plenty of property.

Did not realize I needed external grey water tank, but one was easy to find at Gander Rv. Sites were maintained and park is pleasant place to camp.

Love Fort Pickens, the beaches just go on forever. This time we were able to really explore the area and it was amazing. The only issue is having to park away from our camper but a minor inconvenience! We will return!

Pretty beaches, but limited privacy. Campground also has limited signage and the maps don't indicated which building houses laundry. Additionally while the beaches have lovely white sand, there is quite a bit of trash everywhere. I also think the trails could use updated signage. Many people are not wearing masks inside buildings so be aware of this risk if you go here. There is also quite a bit of city light from across the bay. Many of the facilities were closed, but the fort and bulwarks are open for exploring. Final note, expect limited cell data service. Everyone is sharing the same bandwidth so don't expect to be able to do much outside of calls and texts.

A delightful stay even though it was cold. The hiking trails provided great views of wildlife and vegetation. My site was level, had a picnic table and fire pit. Campers were considerate and quiet.

great place to see, wish there was a larger dog beach area, it was only 100 ft long access of beaches.
