Thanks to the dedicated team of rangers, hosts and staff for sustaining such a wonderful facility and experience for us all.

This was our second stay at Fort Pickens, site C37. Our site was level and partly shaded, with enough room for our 30 ft camper and Jeep. The beach is a short walk from the campground with plenty of space to spread out. The campground is clean and well laid out. During our stay, we received a weather warning and the campground was evacuated so no one would be stranded or flooded. We got two emails and were visited by one of the camp hosts to make sure we were aware and when we needed to leave. Our refund was processed automatically. We appreciate the focus on our safety to avoid the impact of severe weather. We will be back to visit the beautiful white sands and catch the Blue Angels practice again.

Sites are a little crammed, but a lovely campground nevertheless.

Upon check-in, the ranger told us that we needed to go to the camp registration office when they open the next day. Untrue. He also haga be me a receipt when we paid the entrance fee but failed to tell me that we needed to keep the receipt to show it every time we entered. I threw it away (luckily found it later) and then the next time we entered the ranger refused to let us enter until I found the receipt. The bathrooms were old & generally dirty. No campground map was given. Sorely disappointed that is represents a national park.

While the National Park is great, the campground was overcrowded, restrooms and showers poorly maintained, our site had poison ivy all around if you set foot off the paved driveway. The dump station was closed for the majority of the campground and sites with everyone needing to use the dump station for loop A. There are no trash bins at the entrance to the beach access and also none at the beach with the pavilion, people are supposed to take trash to one of the dumpsters in the campground but they don't. Trash left on the beach everywhere. That said, the beaches are lovely and the water great. The fort was excellent and the visitor center there was very educational.

Stayed 2 nights in C37 with a 6 person tent (wanted power and water) in early June. Was able to fit the tent under the shaded area - was very tight fit close to the water spigot but worked. Room for a much larger tent in the open, non-shaded area. Close walk to the bay side beach and other trails. Hosts were helpful. Staff at fort were helpful. 2 pretty large mice that were not shy came out frequently but didn’t get into our belongings. Saw the Blue Angels practice two days during the stay. Beaches in the national park were very nice, not crowded, and just a short drive. Restroom seats could be updated but all in all a worthwhile experience.

But you charge me two times the rates for 2 days, and the officer Dayse, said me she can't do anything about that

We like going to Ft Pickens as it is one of our close to home spots. The downside if you are set on firm dates is the vulnerable nature of the road to the campground is to flooding. Also, it can be fairly hot in July and August, with spring and fall best times to go.

The camp sites are very good, close to the beach and clean facilities. The only complaint I have was the flooding due to heavy rains overnight.

Campground could use some TLC. The location is great and the beach is amazing however Campsites could use some attention. We were in C loop - large rut between the parking asphalt and the (muddy) grassy area. I actually fell and broke my foot. Tried to report it to the ranger at the front gate upon leaving (Memorial Day Friday) but the booth was not staffed . Kind of strange for a big holiday weekend. Several other sites appeared to have had sand placed to level them out and this was defiantly needed at our site. Picnic table had a big warped board. The overall site had a layer of black slippery muck although it had not rained in days. We love this campground as we live locally but honestly it needs some sprucing up!

Check in was easy and the site was ready for me with a reserved sign.
Hiking the Florida trail made for a scenic route to get to the Fort. Found a cool painted rock on the seawall path from "Wisconsin Rocks"
I will be back next year.
