We love being close to the beach & I have family in Pensacola. All of the hosts were friendly and helpful. We have been coming to Fort Pickens for 6yrs. In this time period the care of the park, in particular, the restrooms has become despicable. Each year they get dirtier & dirtier. This year the same hair, toothpaste & just dirt& gunk remained in the sinks (ladies room, section C) the entire 2 wks we were there. We watched the park employee go in to the restroom & turn around & walk out without touching those sinks or toilets. It really is unacceptable to accept money from all of us and leave us with filthy bathrooms. The showers are an even worse situation. Same wads of hair, beer cans, whatever all left day after day after day. The hosts and even the rangers told all of us that this is the NUMBER 1 complaint at this place and they send the messages to maintenance but nothing is fine. Shame on you all in maintenance for not caring.

One of my absolute favorite campgrounds. So much history, and very well presented. Very close to the Naval Air Museum, which is very interesting.

We had site C 10 there was plenty of room. The campgrounds and facilities were clean and the staff was nice. The new showers will nice when they are done.

Let me start by saying Fort Pickens campground is one of our favorite campgrounds ever. But this trip, we were only able to spend 5 of our 11 booked days there. We had to leave due to the potentially bad weather and high surf hitting the area. We had to scramble to find other accommodations and those happened to be 2 hours back west in Citronelle AL. We had driven a long way from MO to get to FL for our vacation. When they evacuate the campground, Recreation.gov refunds the money for your remaining stay and when they reopen again you have to rebook your site and hope the scavengers havent beaten you to it. It was a very sad and disappointing situation. Ultimately, we chose to head back home to MO. We had to cancel all our reservations we had made for our return trip and rebook those for an earlier date and lost all but 3 dollars of our reservation fees. Because this happens frequently at Fort Pickens, we will not return. Its too risky.

This is my favorite campground. The beach area is great. The camp hosts I interacted with all this trip were friendly. The sites we stayed at were clean and well maintained. I like the new way of checking into the campsite. You can go straight to your site at checking in time which is 1pm. Getting to see the Blue Angels practice is always a bonus for us.

The map of The campground is not to scale and you cant easily walk to the beach. You are either in for a long hike or a car ride and park at one of the awesome locations. The Beaches are wonderful and a lot less crowded than a couple miles up the road. Loved the beaches!

Clean campground with good bathhouses. The sites need a bit more parking space as the staff insist on no parking in the grass.

Disappointed that we were evacuated from the park. They close it down for flooding or sand on the road. Any bad weather they are cautious because the road is so vulnerable.

Great place to enjoy the water, walk the beach, camping .You have the bay on one side and gulf of mexico on the other . take a small boat, kayak etc,(no boat ramp) Walk or drive to the old fort , take self guided tour of fort, take in some of the park ranger talks on Fort Pickens history. Enjoy milder winter weather .Nick Jan-2023

Ft Pickens is a first rate campground on the most beautiful beach in FL. I stop here every time I come down from WI. Ft Pickens itself is full of history starting with the revolutionary war and on. For dog lovers, there is a dog beach just outside the park. I highly recommend a stay at Ft Pickens!

Always enjoy the stay. Seems there were differing opinions among campground hosts as to parking vehicles on site. Some campers allowed to park at odd angles while we were reprimanded. But this did not impact our enjoyment of camping.

Beautiful remote campground close to beaches and Ft Pickens park where you can explore the1863 Fort. Lots to see and do: biking, hiking, beach combing. Restrooms and shower are clean. Park is quiet. Its a long drive to civilization so stock up
