Free to tour the fort and good information to learn about the past. It is also a good place to sit and enjoy the Blue Angels practice their flying routines. Campground shower house needs to be cleaned daily and definitely needs to be updated, shower heads are fixed where you have to put your head against the wall just to rinse the soap out of your hair, a couple of the showers are missing the benches.

nice sites, nice bathrooms but check the site length you MUST park your vehicle's STRAIGHT on the asphalt you can not park your truck at an angle in front your camper

We loved the campground. The washer and dryer on site made life much easier. The water and sand was beautiful! We loved exploring the Fort area. We have already booked our next trip! Definitely one of our favorite places.

I paid $80.00 for reservation at FT. Pickens, Nov18 - 22, got to the gate and was told the park was closing at 4 P,M. Asked about a refund and was told it would be a full refund. Now get this, I was offered $20.00 out of the $80.00. Called and was told I would get the $60.00 plus the the $20.00. Great then received a email saying I would get only a total of $60.00 because "I" cancelled, no it was the Park cancelled on me. So I am out of $20.00 plus 3 hours of driving and out of the gas it cost me to drive out there about 16 gallons. To say that I am pissed is putting it mildly.

Beautiful location and the campground was well maintained.
The campground was great. Well maintained. We stayed in loop A and I would recommend this loop as to the other mainly because there is a bit more scrub brush to separate sites and it’s a smaller amount of campers. Bring you bike as most everything is accessible by bike. The sites are a little on the small side so you have to disconnect your tow vehicle and park with in the overflow parking which is close by and plenty of room. Or you can park on your site but keep 3 tires on the pavement.
Beautiful park. Lots to see and do. The beach did not disappoint, everything I wanted it to be. I do wish our site was a little longer.

The park was clean and pretty full but it did not feel crowded. We were trying to go back for Labor day but park is closed from Hurricane Ida. We managed to get a couple of days on9/12 which shows how much we liked it.
Beautiful ethereal place with endless sea and sugar sand beaches. The historic fort is wonderful. We sure missed the partnership of story telling rangers with COVID but the gate rangers were great.

March was a wonderful time to visit this campground! The weather was in the 60’s with beautiful sunny days and gorgeous sunsets to view. The beach was clean and sparsely populated. I can imagine even in the summer that it wouldn’t be very crowded simply because it is at the end of the peninsula and it would primarily draw campers and not day trippers. The sites in A attract the retired campers because it’s smaller, but will need to reserve 6 months in advance in order to secure more than a couple days in a row. The larger sites BCDE are good, and attract families. Plenty of loops for kids to ride bikes safely. All sites have great access to walking trails and beach.

Easy access to beach. Nice walking trails. Loop A isn't as crowded as the other loops.
We loved the history part of Ft. Pickens, and the park is BEAUTIFUL, but a new system of accommodating campers who must switch from one campsite to another needs to be put in place. From our camping adventures in 40 states we have been allowed to move from one campsite to another within 30 minutes, because the volunteer host get out and "ready the sites" as soon as campers leave. Waiting 3 hours is a bit much. We did use that time to visit the historical section. We did enjoy our stay very much.

If there are speed tests submitted for a campground the campsite icons will be colored based on the average download speed and the border will be colored based on the average upload speed.
In this example Campsite #123 has very good download speeds and decent upload speeds. If a campsite has a solid yellow color it means there was no data speed detected in the test(s). Clicking on a campsite icon reveals more details.
