It was a little too cold due to wind to enjoy the beach for long. Also drizzled so I walked the loop which was good. I didn't care for the showers, had hot water, but if this is the remodeled version...I wish I could have gotten a map when I arrived, all the parts of the fort, the batteries etc were a bit confusing, took me a while to figure out where to park to walk the fort. Same issue, no booklet or anything - - it's all on the app I heard over and over but the service was not the greatest and failed. A map would have been a huge help. Boardwalks and beaches and dunes and water are beautiful but need a little bit warmer temperature to really enjoy.

The new policy regarding pass holders for the National Parks pass is terrible, and makes no sense for access to the Ft. Pickens Campground. Previously, we were permitted two names on the NP pass which meant either my wife or I could use the pass to enter Ft. Pickens. Now, only one person is allowed on the pass ... so if my wife wants to go into town, she can't get back into the park without me being in the car. Also, the camping pass we get at the ranger station doesn't count as a park pass ... EVEN THOUGH WE HAD TO SHOW OUR NP PARK PASS WHEN WE CHECKED IN. Madness.

Nothing like being secluded at the end of an island. The campgrounds were full but the beaches were not crowded and pristine. Only bad comment i have is the shower rooms need updated.

Water was beautiful and the history amazing. The boardwalk to the beach was very helpful. We enjoyed our stay and plan to return in the future.

Site was level and beach was great. Washer & dryer worked fine. Shower was a little scuzy(no bench to sit) but A loop was perfect spot. Lots of trees but we cleared ok. Over Christmas was good time to come; not so bz. Very remote so bring any supplies you might need.

This is our favorite campground. It's a no frills campground. The beach is across the street and it's absolutely gorgeous here. The sites are only water & electric, but there is a dump station. There is no camp store and the drive is about 30 minutes to get supplies. The Blue Angels practice on Tues & Wed and you can watch it from the Fort. Some of it you may be able to see from your campsite. See the Blue Angels practice schedule on their website.

Quiet campground. Beautiful beach. Interesting Fort and Discovery Center. Nice place to ride bikes too! Love Ft Pickens!

Wonderful parks, beautiful settings, great roads and parking pads were adequate. Showers were hot, easily accessible and plenty of room to use. Two things that could use an improvement: Pads could be a little wider. I almost fell setting out of the trailer, my foot stepped on the edge the pad and there was a drop off from the pad to the ground.Showers need another bench by the door. Dry clothes and towels dropped off the hooks and became wet. A bench would enable you sit on a dry area to dress. Thank you for loving and sharing our National Parks with us!

Be sure and check length of site. Every site is different length. Length of site is for camper plus vehicle.

Camping at Fort Pickens never disappoints. We love the trails for biking and hiking, though not extensive, are scenic and well maintained. Watching the sunsets and the Blue Angels on Wednesday practices from the top of a bunker are amazing experiences. Fishing and crabbing from the pier and near the jetties are enjoyable. And visiting the beaches, fort and batteries never gets old, and I've been doing that on a regular basis since the early 1960's.

Absolutely beautiful. Campground was well kept. Facilities were very clean. Only negative was the cinder block showers had very little ventilation and were almost unbearably hot.
