Really enjoy the hike from the campgrounds to the fort. Especially when the Eagles are nesting,

This is the second time weve stayed here and we like everything about it. The spaces are level and clean, shaded, the bathroom facilities are always clean. We enjoy the bike trails and the beautiful white sandy beaches and beautiful water. We like visiting the Battery and the history.

This was such a great experience. The campgrounds are nice and everyone seemed to be very friendly. Getting out and seeing the history of the Fort Pickens was exciting. The beaches were my favorite thing. I love that you can go to the beach right across from your campsite along with the other campers but yet still have your own space. The walking/bike trails are nice place to walk your dogs. Overall my experience was EXCELLENT!!

Loved, Loved, Loved Fort Pickens Campground! I never thought I would love another beach in Florida more than our very own Siesta Key Beach. I LOVED the beaches and the entire Fort Pickens area. The best part for me was that the beaches were almost empty. It felt like we were on our very own private beach. I loved the white sand and the miles upon miles of deserted beaches. The staff and people at the campground were all very nice and helpful. The sites are not very large but were perfect for our 26 foot motorhome. The only negative was cell reception. At times we had hardly any and then it was super high speed. The Fort itself was a great experience. And the icing on the cake was watching all the military jets doing their exercises overhead!

Fort Pickens is a great family getaway! Loop A (where we stayed) is smaller, and a bit tight for large rigs, but quiet and has trail access to the Florida Trail. Bathrooms are basic, showers are available, but all were clean and functional. And you can't beat the beaches!

Weve stayed at this campground twice now, both times in loop A. Site 40 is our favorite! We will definitely be back again and we hope that site is available. We would recommended this campground to anyone. The beaches are beautiful and clean. Both years weve gone, there werent a lot of people so we pretty much had it all to ourselves. The camping community is so nice and friendly! The camp hosts were checking on everything in the loop several times a day it seemed like, but were never intrusive. The bathrooms, showers and laundry facility are amazing! By far the best camp bathroom facilities weve ever been to. We were so impressed with how nice they were. They cleaned them every day and there was never a time that we went when we thought it was too nasty to use. This place is our favorite vacation destination. Both of our kids started their online classes for school while we were there and they never missed a class with their AT&T phones. The service was great! We watched movies on our Kindle firestick every night and used our phones for hotspots. You cant beat the price especially for being right on the beach and still having all of the wonderful amenities. We will be back!

The camp host for Loop A were great, some of the best I have seen. But when we changed to Loop C for the second week, these camp host need to take lessons from Loop A camp host, I have never seen such rude and hateful camp host, the Park Rangers told us that when we check out of Loop A to go to Loop C, just take the Motor Home over and park it then come to the house to complete check in so we did, when we got back to the Motor Home 15 minutes later, we had a notice on the door that we had to go check in, so when the camp host drove by, I told him what the Park Rangers told us to do, and he said that is not the way its done, and that I was lying. Then the park host stopped around 30 minutes later and told me that all tires on tow vehicle had to be on pad, that's fine, but all of the neighbors had tires on the grass, then the next morning I was taking one of our pets out, I was carrying him down the steps, and camp host jumped me and said they have to be on leash before we stepped out of the Motor Home, although he saw I had it in my hand, I don't know if he got pissed off, when I told him what the Park Rangers told about checking in, but I would only stay at Loop A ever again. We talked to several neighbors in the Loop C, and they all said he has authority issues and don't get on the wrong side of him or his wife.

Our family were in Loop A. Very nice. The campground appeared to be well maintained. The park staff was friendly in providing information about the park and rules to help maintain it's quality. The old fort and gunnery sites were very interesting. Nice tour provided by the park staff of the old fort. The beach is absolutely beautiful. The view of Pensacola deep water harbor is wonderful. The walking and biking trails are very good for nature lovers as myself. The boardwalk to the beach so so as it is still needing repairs from past storm damage, Saw birds of prey nesting, and many other birds. Saw a alligator turtle and other species turtles from a small walking bridge over a creek. These creatures were just as fascinated with us watching them as we were of them. Saw Herons in tree tops all the chirping and drama a parent goes through feeding their young. Very relaxing recreational park. Do have all your essentials with you. The park store is currently closed. We did not use the bath facilities as everything we need is on board in the RV. Take care in driving around Loop A RV to avoid potential issues with the tree limbs of the trees that line the roadway in beautiful manner. Certain will visit again. Yes do plan reservations far in advance if you plan staying in a RV, the park is very popular. I had to plan six months out to get an reservation. There is an additional gate fee at the park entrance, not included in the camping fees. It was right around $27 dollars or something like that. It is good for I think it was six or seven days. Hope to return again next spring, if I an get an reservation. No site stayed empty during my visit at all. As soon as someone pulled out by afternoon it was filled. Busy busy campground.
