Have camped here several years in a row with the Cub Scout Pack for Blue Angel homecoming weekend. For some reason this year the Rangers were just all over us about everything. The Boy Scout troop across from us ended up having to pack up and leave after one night and they drove 5 hrs to get here. All because of the 2 tent per site limit. Yes, they had more than two per site but they were tiny tents and their rules don't allow one huge tent with everyone piled in it. 3 of their tents didn't make up the sq. ft. of some of the huge tents I saw on other sites. They claim they want scouts to come out there and camp but then make it impossible. I've never seen Rangers be so unreasonable. Parking on the grass, ok I get it. Having 3 small tents on a site vs. one huge one; c'mon. But I mean rules are rules so being scouts they complied and loaded up the dual axle covered trailer and went elsewhere. I just thought it was rather rude of the Rangers. Not sure we will come back either if they are so unwilling to work with us. I try and book the group site every year and it always seems to be unavailable.

Only downside is that there is not an off leash dog beach.

We tent camped. Restrooms and showers were clean. The campsite was across the street from the beach. Long walk from the street to the beach, but we'll worth it! Pack light. The stay was mostly pleasant. Our only complaint was Friday night, when late arriving (12am) guests were extremely noisy, but they only stayed 1 night and left early the next morning. We would stay again.

What a cool place! I will be back for sure! the beach is perfect, the bay is the spot to watch the Blue Angels practice. And the Fort with all its buildings and cool architectural design is neat to explore! Staff and volunteer staff is very kind making sure you have alll you need.

We only stayed one night but we loved our brief stay. The campground was nice and had large sites on the tent side. The restrooms were new. We enjoyed biking from the campsite to Fort Pickens and exploring the fort. The beach was about 3/4th mile walk. The beach was so beautiful and peaceful.
