We loved the camp ground, very quiet and beautiful. Our spot, on a corner was spacious and had a lovely tree. Walking distance to the beaches. I also had a great experience when I called with a question about our spot. A ranger (or host?) who took my message, walked over to look at the spot, and called me back with an answer. Excellent service. We also toured around the fort - very interesting history. Would love to come again.

This was our 2nd time camping at Fort Pickens. Let me tell you the 2 were so different. !st trip we arrived early and was able to set up before 1 o'clock no issues at all. The host and hostess were great. This time we got to camp at around 11 and our site was ready so we pulled in and started setting up. The hostess come over after we was done and told us we had to leave that we could not set up till 1. We told her we had done this last time and there was no issue. We asked if we could pay for an early check-in and she told us to leave. Then she and another host sat in the golf cars and watched us pack up. We come back at 1 and set up. This lady was like out to make us miserable. We pulled in and they told us we had to back in okay done then she come back next day and said we had a tire on the grass. We went and looked and the tire was barely touching. On top of that the bathrooms in section E are scary. The walls are nasty and 2 of the 4 did not even have handles working to turn shower on. The handle was laying in the floor. If you want a good bathroom go to C. For this to be a national park the facilities are lacking. Otherwise over looking the hostess the park in very nice just really have to watch for snakes.

Great place to camp. However Shower house and restrooms need to be fixed or improved. Some showers have broken hooks, or chairs. no place to hang or set dry clean clothes.Need a camp store or concession stand open longer hours and more selection of stock.

Really enjoyed being in the natural beach area without any high rise buildings in site. The campground was well taken care of. Some of the sites would be a little tight backing into. Over all had a great time. Also enjoyed going to the Fort and hearing the history . There is a board walk going to the beach on the Gulf side. To cold to use during our visit but a beautiful beach.

Bathrooms need to be upgraded. Poor facilities for a national park.

We had a great time. Everything was wonderful, except for the heat, but it is summer time. We left a day early and tried to cancel out last day but were not able to on the website.

As usual Ft. Pickens was very enjoyable. The campground was very clean. It got very hot but the beach kept us cool with a steady wind and a light rain most every evening. The bathrooms are getting a little tired but usable and clean.. Hope to return next year.
The camp host was not good, he complained about something everyday. We had to leave because of hurricane Ida, email said be out by 6 pm, camp host told us if we were not out by noon, the troops would come and put us out. Neighbors across the street said he was on them about things too. Not much fun when the camp host wouldn't leave you alone. We have camped there several times and for many years, never any problems. I didn't appreciate him lying to us we had to hurry to leave because our letter we got on Thursday and my email said 6 pm, park closing at 8 pm. Thank you
The check in went well. We were able to get sites for 3 nights even tho we hadn't found sites on line. We always have an enjoyable time at Ft. Pickens, rain or shine. Ft. Pickens always shines. We're lucky to live near by, so we can visit often.
We got evacuated 6 days into a 14 day stay. After 3 days of the park being closed they opened back up and we were going back for the remaining 5 days. Sadly we had lost our remaining days at our site and could not get back in. Seems to me if you reserve a campsite you should have the option to come back to the site for the remaining time you had left. This needs to be addressed. This cost me a lot of money.
The fort and beach were fabulous. The grounds and facilities were well maintained. We stayed at site E 66 which was a pretty site but very tight. Our RV is 29 feet long and we struggled to get in and out it that particular site. The photo image was a little misleading in that you couldn’t see from the photo the two trees bordering the entrance of the site. A smaller rig would have no difficulties. Otherwise, we truly enjoyed the campground, the area, and the restaurants. We will return to this campground again in the future!

If there are speed tests submitted for a campground the campsite icons will be colored based on the average download speed and the border will be colored based on the average upload speed.
In this example Campsite #123 has very good download speeds and decent upload speeds. If a campsite has a solid yellow color it means there was no data speed detected in the test(s). Clicking on a campsite icon reveals more details.
