We just finished our annual family vacation to Fort Pickens campground. We had three generations and three campers. We have stayed at this campground multiple times over the past 25 years and as always the location is perfect and campground near the beach can’t be beat. This is one for the few National Park Service campgrounds that offers water and electric which makes it more enjoyable. This visit however our trip was marred with a camp host that is on some sort of power trip. On our third day suddenly she decided one of our campers had maybe 1/4 of the wheel off the asphalt and one tow vehicle was parked across the site pad not in the road or grass. She asked us to move the truck and move the camper over. We promptly moved the truck. However as we were leaving for a scheduled activity and moving a camper is not a quick process we told her that we would move it as soon as we got back which we did. This started what was apparently her dislike of our group and inconsistent enforcement of the “rules”. For instance another truck at a site across the road from is was parked across their drive the whole week and never asked to move. Our “kids” all teens or young adults were throwing a football in the road there were a couple kids from the campground and some local family members that came to visit with us playing as well. Nothing was said until they left, but as soon as it was just our kids they were told not to play in the street. She had even spoke to the kids prior to this about nice catches etc. Her host site is right next to one of ours so anything we can see from our site she could see as well.
I want to note that we are not new camper’s we’ve been camping for over 50 years. . We understand and follow rules, as a matter of fact I defended her actions at first over the truck and camper, but rules need to be enforced gloably not singling out certain campers.
