The campground was very nice. Make sure you check for storms before booking as we were forced out due to a storm since the road out to Ft Pickens floods and there is no access. So we were only able to enjoy our first day and were packed up the second day and ended up having to stay in a hotel for the rest of our scheduled time here.

I've been staying at Fort Pickens for few years and love it. Love exploring the fort and the rich history. Also, the museum in the downtown area & Naval Museum. Local food is great Facility is clean and friendly staff.

Ft. Pickens is an extremely beautiful beach park. What a national treasure indeed. So nice to be where there isn’t a hotel ( inside park). Camping is great! Lot to see actually within minutes

Fort Pickens is an amazing place to camp with the family. I had a great time, but I was lucky that the weather was nice and the people that I was with did not need power, since they removed the outlets from the sites. Also, my site did not have water, but I was even more lucky that the site next to me had water and no one was camping there that night. They all use to have power and water, so I am not sure what happened. Still had a great time. The fort was awesome and the beach is just as amazing.

The facilities are adequate. They are normally clean and well-maintained. The beach is pristine and seldom crowded. In addition, you have access to hiking trails, the bay and the Fort. One inconvenience is that the campground store has been closed for years. It was convenient if for nothing other than ice and firewood. With the store being closed, one has to drive into Pensacola Beach daily, which is 15 or so minutes each way to the closest convenience store.
If you are tent camping, it is beneficial to do your homework on the location of your site prior to your stay. Some sites are more desirable than others based on their access to shade, their proximity to the restrooms, to the road, to other sites etc. Some can be noisy or in higher-traffic areas, which can be inconvenient.
The rangers and hosts are always friendly and helpful. The other guests are normally very friendly. Personally, I have been staying here for 10 years or so, and it has gotten more difficult to get a reservation in that time. If you are planning on staying here, I suggest you plan ahead. They have been reserving some sites as 'First Come, First Serve' which my understanding is that they are for day-of reservations. I have been saying for several years that I wish there was a way to prioritize longer stays, you will often see that sites are available for several days, but not on a Saturday for instance, meaning that a person reserved the site for one night only. There have been times when I have had to move sites during my visit to accommodate a person who had reserved the site for one day only.
Overall, you cannot beat the location. There are some ways it could be improved, but there is a reason why reservations have become more difficult to get.
