Great campground for relaxing. Short walk to the beach, great area to ride bikes and can even get some hiking in on the trails. Had an issue with the electric at our campsite but taken care of right away. We were there in February and had plenty of sunshine. Our site did not have any shade but not needed as the temps were in the low 70s. It is about a 6+ mile or so drive to restaurants if you like to eat out. We like the seclusion of the area away from it all.

Nice campground, but it's the beach that is the best! Especially on the Gulf side. The visit of Fort Pickens is also very interesting. Overall a great experience!

We were in the non electric sites with a class B campervan. Loved it. Some sites are very short. We were in D5

Our visit of Fort Pickens campground was a fantastic experience! The spot we got was small but not lacking in features, we have ample room to put up our tent. There isn't a ton of privacy but you get to meet a lot of good people. The beach [on the bay side] is a very close walk, perfect way to get a late afternoon walk in. The ocean side beach is a bit farther away but is no problem. The amenities are spaced out, but not too far of a walk. All of the areas are kept and clean. There is a dish cleaning area at the facilities too, which is nice if you came to do more primitive camping like we did. There is a Fire pit is on each site with a offset grill too, so you can use wood or coal for cooking. Overall it was a nice stay. You should have a good time here, I highly recommend it.

We have stayed here in the past and loved it for the things it has, doing on one side and beach on the other. This time it was less than average. The beach and sound were beautiful as ever but the campgrounds themselves were unkept. Showers were moldy full of sand and generally unclean. The actual sites were uncut and tall. The usual flooding occurs during heavy rain but thats to be expected but could use improvement to have proper drainage.
