The fort was very interesting. It was walking distance from the campground.

The campground and beaches were great, but the hosts have obviously not been doing their jobs. Bathrooms and showers had mold growing, and none of the bathrooms had hand soap. Some of the showers were missing shower heads, so the water just ran down the walls. When I went to talk to the host, they just ignored me. I'll definitely be coming back, but I won't be expecting the hosts to do their jobs at all.

I always enjoy camping here twice a year. The beaches are beautiful and uncrowded. The campsites are smaller than a lot of places I camp, but its beautiful so I dont care. Im begging that yall paint the showers. They are peeling and never been painted as long as Ive been coming. Ive been here many times and for the first time EVER someone rolled up in a golf cart demanding that I back up in my parking spot so they can see my pass in my windshield. Im not great at backing up and my car was always partially off that asphalt. It was stressful for me and I think thats a ridiculous new rule. I love to camp, but its getting to be less enjoyable here due to such a ridiculous rule. Go check out the old Ft. Pickens fort, lots of history there.

Title: Pleasant Stay with Room for Improvement

Rating: ???

I recently stayed at Fort Pickens, and overall, it was a nice experience. However, there were a couple of issues that affected my stay.

Firstly, the showers did not provide cold water at all. In fact, one of the showers was scalding hot, making it uncomfortable to stand under. It would be greatly appreciated if the temperature control of the showers could be addressed to ensure a more comfortable bathing experience for guests.

Additionally, I was disappointed to find that the store at Fort Pickens was closed during my stay. The lack of access to basic necessities, such as snacks, drinks, and ice, was inconvenient. It would be beneficial for both short-term and long-term visitors if the store could be reopened, allowing for the purchase of essential items without having to drive back into town.

Despite these issues, I must mention that the overall experience at Fort Pickens was positive. The location and surroundings were enjoyable, and the staff was friendly and helpful. However, addressing the shower temperature and reopening the store would greatly enhance the overall experience for future visitors.

Fort Pickens is a beautiful park with gorgeous beaches. The campground was clean and there was a trail to a beach that is just breathtaking to walk down as the sun comes up.
The sites are close together and there is only minimal shade for tents. During the summer, some other campers use their vehicles to sleep in, and run the air conditioner, which can disturb other campers. I was disappointed by the policy which doesn't allow hammocks to be hung in trees. It did rain while we were there which caused us to leave a day early because our tents flooded. Luckily it didnt rain enough to flood the whole park and leave us stranded there.

Someone unzipped the tent me and my daughter was sleeping in. They removed the top part of the tent completely and undid the window unit. I am not sure if they were looking to steal or was a peeping Tom. I have never had this happen before and I did not feel safe after this. The campground itself was wonderful and restrooms and showers were very clean. Easy access to the beach and fishing. Staff is very hospitable.

Ft Pickens is always a fun place to camp. The park rangers are always very friendly. There are a lot of activities to do there such as exploring the fort. The beaches are beautiful and the hiking and biking trails are so much fun.
