Site was very clean and quiet, convenient to the beach and nice for bike riding. The showers need a little updating especially the shower heads that are way to close to the wall to get under. Also an ice machine even if its pay would be nice. We enjoyed our stay though.

Great campground to relax and enjoy the beach without the crowds. Beautiful beaches with little to no crowds and short walk from the A loop. The campsites very in size and shade quite a lot so watch some YouTube videos before making a reservation. We have a small trailer so site size is not as important but big class As and 5th wheels will have some problems. You cant park on the grass so keep that in mind when choosing a site. There is some overflow parking. Compared to a private campground on the beach Ill take Fort Pickens and Ill bring my tote tank everytime.

Come for normalcy and take the time to hike around. A wonderful place! Bring some sun screen n watch out for snakes n critters..,they were there first. ;)

Fort Pickens and the Gulf Islands National Seashore are well worth the visit. The sand is as white as snow and the views on the undeveloped beach are spectacular. We camped at Fort Pickens Campground. I definitely recommend Loop A if you plan to camp here. We visited the historical Fort Pickens and the Discovery Center and learned so much about the area’s history as well as the impact of nature and humans on the fragile ecosystem. We rode our bikes on a portion of the National Scenic Trail as well. A great way to explore the island!

This is one of my favorite campgrounds. Walking distance to white sand beaches. A great place to relax with the kids. We spent 5 nights in the A loop, which I think is the best loop and has some spots with shade. But you have to reserve right at the start of the reservation window or get lucky and pick up a cancellation. The only problem with the campground is it does close when the weather is bad. We had to leave our last night because of a tropical storm and the campground closing. I would definitely have alternative plans on hand if you are planning to stay here in hurricane season.

Tree branches too low to get into site. Wish the park could trim overhanging branches to make it easier to get into sites that are long enough for big rigs.

Very nice location, bay on one side and the ocean on the other, both are within walking distance from campground.
