I especially liked all of the walking trails, easy access to both the Gulf and the Bay, and the ability to explore much of the fort.

Beautiful place for a vacation. Beaches, walking trails, old military fort installations. Free (US Navy) Blue Angels shows (they have their practice twice a week in April and May). There is a chronic lack of garbage cans in bathrooms/showers; all trash ends up on floors.

Fort Pickens campground is just a beautiful place. The facilities are acceptable, and the people are great. Very peaceful and quiet in December 2023.

The highlight of our visit was seeing the Blue Angels practice. The downside of our visit was the restrooms. They really need to be updated. We had 100+ temperatures while we were visiting, but the restrooms were even hotter! The showers really need new faucets and shower heads. The sites were paved and pretty level but lacked shade. The hosts were very pleasant. The location is excellent.

This campground was a wonderful base for exploring Fort Pickens itself, nearby Gulf Breeze, and Pensacola. Other campers were friendly and helpful. The site was well maintained. Bathrooms were cleaned several times a day. Having laundry onsite was helpful. January weather was a mix of sunny days, cloudy (but still warm) days, and a few rainy days.We walked to Fort Pickens (0.9 miles away) several times and enjoyed tours and talks there, as well as the wildlife along the way.The campground has fairly close access to the beaches along the Gulf of Mexico, as well as Pensacola Bay.

The campground was clean and quiet. Plenty of bike riding to do and the various areas of the park were great for exploring. The Blue Angels practice was a wonderful surprise!

So many good things to say about this campground. The beach gets 10 stars. It was amazing and endless. Campground is divided in 5 sections. Section A is closest to the beach. We found sites not as large as section C or E. Section C site 9 was our favorite of the three sites we stayed at. Restrooms were clean. Rangers were very helpful. Discovery Center at the Fort was great. Lots of information and a nice 26 minute film on the area. The only negative thing is that the road flooded due to a storm and you had to drive through salt water to leave. Storms have changed the landscape and this will happen more and more. We will return!

Beautiful ocean views. Great hiking trails. The Fort was fun to view. Sites were fairly tight and there is not much privacy, but the hot showers, flush toilets, laundry and dump station along with the low price if you have a National park pass make this a great place to walk miles of beautiful white sandy beaches, with plenty of shells to collect and enjoy the gulf.

Awesome place, well-managed and rich in history. The beach is tremendous!
The only drawback is that dogs are not allowed on the beach, the only camping park I've ever been where that is so. It makes no sense. Keeping your dog at the campsite while going to the beach is a major hassle. My dog loves the ocean, and to make campers drive out of the park to a dog beach is very inconvenient. At the very least make a beach section for dogs within walking distance.

Visited in Dec/Jan so the weather can be spotty. I grew up in Florida and chose spotty weather to bugs and heat of summer. The campground was well maintained and the hosts present but not intrusive. The hiking trails were great (did bring back chiggers, should have known better). Dogs welcome in park and on trails but not allowed on beaches, gulf or bayside. There is a tiny dog beach outside the National Park at PCB but I emphasize โ€œtinyโ€. Had a great stay would visit again.
