Fort Pickens is always great. My only complaint is that Internet coverage at least for Verizon is terrible. Otherwise it's a lovely campground and waking up to the sound of the surf and those beautiful turquoise waters and white sand makes up for it.

Have camped here for 60 years and never tire of the beauty, wonderful trails, beach side and bay, fort, sunset, Blue Angels practices.... on and on. GREAT place to visit. Even better to camp. This time the bathrooms were not well maintained. Some showers closed altogether, many needed repair. Hot water wasn't available after peak hours. All shower stalls had mold, peeling paint and were sometimes nasty. The dump stations at the entrance to Loops B, C, D and E: the one on the right was locked out. A tall retaining wall has been added around both of the dump sites. It makes dumping very difficult. Everyone I observed had to manually pick up on the the black water and gray water hoses to get the contents to flow over tall wall, again and again. Very bad design. We went to the dump station in the A Loop and had no problems. First time I've even had anything negative to say about this park. It is a TREASURE.

The showers were filthy. I mean filthy. The county patrol wrote me a good driving award for 34 in a 25. I mean go deal with some real crime. It takes 30 minutes to get to the nearest restaurant if you drive 35.

Recently visited Ft Pickens National Park in FL. Beautiful park between Pensacola Bay and Gulf. White sand beaches. Only $20/night for Seniors pass and free admission to park. Had to leave early due to storm. While there we used the showers. They are very old, abused and moldy. Restrooms were better. Hosts are very helpful and friendly. Some of the sites are very short so be sure to check site length. No sewer hookups but I did see a truck come thru that pumped out your tanks. Definitely will visit again.

The gulf and bay side beaches are great. The trails are great. The fort is amazing - 25.5 million bricks! Pensacola Beach restaurants are a bonus.

We are repeat campers at Fort Pickens. We come to camp any time of year. The trails are lovely and the wildlife watching is fantastic. The fort and beaches are the focus here but the park is so much more. The campground is well maintained and the workers are friendly.

The campground and park are awesome.Bathrooms were clean. Clean, beautiful family friendly beaches just a few minutes from the campground. The fort was very cool, and the staff was helpful, and watching the Blue Angels from on top of the fort was a fun experience. This was one of our family's favorite vacations. Just a short drive to restaurants and shops. Overall an awesome place.

All around our favorite one of the COE campgrounds we visited on our snow bird tour through Florida. Loved the hiking trails.

This was our first time at Ft Pickens campground. The experience was so enjoyable that we have reservations for a return visit. The camp hosts were ever-present and super helpful. The shower facilities were nice and they were cleaned daily. The dishwashing station was a welcomed addition. I highly recommend a stay.

The water, history and beauty of Ft. Pickens park always leave good memories for us. We have been going to the Park for over 40 years. However, once again our experience with the campground host in the big loop left a bitter taste. The previous time we camped in a 26' travel trailer the host came by our site just as we arrived and reprimanded us for pulling our truck on the side of the road by our site to get unloaded. "No vehicles except on the pad and designated parking area." This last trip in our updated 30' Motorhome, we were reprimanded for using our outside shower to rinse off sand and salt. We were asked to use the showers at the bathhouse for this. However, upon entering the shower stall mold/mildew was growing up 3' on the walls...... Needless to say we did not use it! Honestly, it makes me hesitate to even stay at the campground again.

Ft Pickens campground is the best.
My family has been camping at Ft Pickens for 30 years, hanging out at the beach and fishing. We have the same traditions like, fish fry night, spaghetti night, and campfires every night.
Great place to camp!

A very short walk to the beach, which was beautiful. The showers and restrooms very clean. Campground was quiet, even with the many RV's and other vehicles all around us. We would definitely stay t Ft Pickens again!

Excellent campground, clean bathrooms, lots to do! The old forts are a short walk from the campground, great place to go biking or hiking with clean beaches. Even in January the water felt great!

We arrived on Dec 30, 2020 and didn't stay long because it was just an overnight stop and cut short even further due to rain early in day, but we will be coming back for sure! Campground is in it's natural setting and within walking distance to the beautifully pristine, white sand beaches of the Gulf Island National Seashore. When we arrived it was later in the day and driving in along the dunes and the water, I felt like a giddy kid!! It's so beautiful in the winter...The sunset at the beach was amazing. Didn't use the facilities but the campground was clean and spot sizes were ample. Some others commented that trees hindered them backing in, but we didn't see that kind of problem...noticed limbs were cut so maybe problem was resolved.

We had a campsite in Loop E. It had plenty of shade when we needed shade. We have enjoyed Fort Pickens for over twenty years. We like the ease of getting to the beach. We enjoy the partially shaded walking trails. We like that we can dash to Gulf Breeze for a great supper.
