The campground is showing its age. Small back in sights and according the the park staff we cannot leave the tow vehicle on the campsite that is not parked in a certain way. Rules are not enforced equally for all camp sites. Restrooms on the east side were broken and not usable. The newly renovated not clean at most times on day. Trails are overgrown and not capable of handling the patrons walking and biking.

The campground is level and very family friendly. There are good places to walk or ride bikes. The beaches are wonderful! We loved when the Angels were flying over!

There are no words to describe the sunrises and sunsets on the beach area.

Fort Pickens Camp Ground is full of things to do, tour the Fort visit the book store with the Fort Pickens history. Fish the bay waters, fish the Gulf waters. Several trails to hike, lots of beauty so bring your camera. Camp site is clean.

This campground is AMAZING and our only regret is we didnt plan ahead to stay longer. The forest rangers were all very friendly and helpful, as were the camp hosts. We spent the majority of our time on the beaches at Ft Pickens because they werent crowded and were beautifully maintained. One day we rented a pontoon boat (out of Pensacola) and spent a day on the water and watched the Blue Angels practice right above us. Theyre practice schedule is listed so its easy to plan to watch them.Since the campground only offers water and electrical hookups we showered in the facility showers (to not fill our gray tank too fast) which were very clean and close to our camp spot. There is a dump station which we used for our black tank on our way out.Lots of fun bike trails on the island. We will most definitely be back next year.

It was definitely an adventure with water over the roads in some spots on the way into the campground. The campground was very neat without any litter. The fan in the toilet facilities was spinning what seemed like over 100 miles per hour. The temperatures for those days was in the 40s. All in all I would highly recommend it as somewhere to camp; the seashore was spectacular.

We set up on an RV site in order to have water and power. Bath house less than a 100 yards away. I only use my large 10 x 20 tent on this occasion. Weather was raining during set up. And rain off and on the next day and night. A neighbor helped when I needed him the most. It was the most joyous camping adventure I have had since I can remember. I now know how to go to the beach without having to leave all my money on the beach. Can hardly wait to go back and present 5 stars for the adventure.

The beach was lovely. The fort is pretty darn cool. Communication was terrible. The camp host was out right rude. I suggest checking the Fort Pickens website before your arrival as we did not receive any communication regarding a change in check in procedures due to staff being evacuated because of high water on the road. It was deemed safe enough for campers to drive through it, but not the staff working the facility. After the hateful treatment from the camp host, we don't plan to return until she has had time to leave. Good luck!

Location is a true treasure, the beach is one of the best in the world. With the bridge out you are isolated from Pensacola. The E loop is crowded together ad sites are small and tight. One campground host couple are too aggressive with guests. The Fort is great to visit. All the grounds were clean and well maintained. We enjoyed the Presence of the Navy aircraft and the Ospreys. The camper ground store would be helpful if it ever reopens.

We love this park. It has it all: history (tours of the fort), beach on the gulf (not crowded), great bike rides, and a nice campground. The only note i have is that there could be more trees (it is HOT in florida) and bathrooms in the campground.
