Liked that Check-in was hour earlier (1 pm) and drove directly to the campsite. Grass was cut nicely and site was clean. Hope, dump station is fixed soon in loop BCDE. We had to use dump station in Loop A. Thank you.

Loved the campground and location. But hated being policed by park rangers and camp host. Kind of sad that all the camp host do is drive around. They are not friendly or good at relaying information or recommendations like we have found at other campgrounds.

My absolute favorite campground so far. I loved being on the island and taking long walks on the beach! So many things to explore on the island, we only left once in 5 days

We really liked Fort Pickens Campground. It’s a really neat place. The Fort is neat to see too. It was a real chilly week that we were at the campground. We enjoyed walking on the beach and the sunsets were pretty. We did have a couple of bad experiences while we stayed there. We had just met our neighbors that were very nice people, when a cranky volunteer came and got very hateful with our neighbor. A volunteer the night before had told him to move his car, so he did. This cranky lady approached him in a very aggressive way and told him he had to move his car. She was not very nice about it at all. When he said a different volunteer told him to move his car to where it was, she yelled at him that they told him wrong. She got right in his face and without a mask on. It made my husband and I very uncomfortable. I saw our neighbor getting really upset about it. I just wish people could be more kind to others. The next issue is we had trouble with our slide not working on our RV and had our key break off in our lock of a storage cabinet. We called our warranty company and they suggested we call the office where we were staying to see who they would recommend to come work on our RV. My husband called the office and he was told they don’t recommend anyone and they seemed more concerned with us not being able to leave our spot in time than helping us and they were happy to hear that our reservations were for several more days. It took us forever to get a repairman and locksmith out because of where the campground is and the bridge being out. The restrooms were good but the showers weren’t that great and with it chilly out the showers were cold. I did some laundry while there at the laundry facilities and the dryers took forever to dry. The change machine was broke at the office for change for the washer and dryer. We may visit again.
