Although the spot did not have trees, it ended up being a nice spot to camp because the weather was not too hot. The only complaint we had is that the bathroom facilities were not kept clean and with paper. It was Easter weekend so I put it off for that. I have been coming to this campsite since I was a child. I know things change but overall I love coming to Santa Rosa in Fort Pickens for camping.

Catch the sunrise and sunset from the beach...the orientation of the beach makes for beautiful moments for both. Hike the beach and the Florida Trail. If you are traveling with kids, have them complete the Junior Ranger packet. The park ranger made the moment very special for my son! Took him to the officer's quarters in Fort Pickens to do it.

You can choose between quieter bay side, or gulf way side, both within walking distance. Staff friendly bathrooms were good. Saw several types of wildlife. I look forward to my next visit.

The only thing I would suggest is maybe make the markers for the lots a little bit clearer or visable at night. I had a little trouble finding my lot.

Great campground for tent camping. Parking, firepits, and bathhouse are very nice. Close to everything...beach, Naval Air Station, Aviation Museum, hiking trails, historic forts, kayaking, and much, much more! Great Ranger staff also. Chad was extremely helpful!!

We had a great time. Camp bathrooms were cleaned daily and park was just as expected.

Loved the proximity to the beautiful white sand beach. Camp site was spacious and bathrooms were clean. Showers were a bonus.

Having done most camping in forested areas, I was a little less enthused about the "openness of the campground, but it was fine. Walking the beach and seeing wildlife- particularly a number of stingrays swimming in the the shallows on the bay side of the islands was very interesting. The fort and its history was was also fascinating and I appreciate the continued restoration efforts. Staff in the reservation office was pleasant and helpful.

Fort Pickens was a great campground! The people were nice, the campsites were well taken care of, and the trails were well marked. I enjoyed all of it!
