We love staying at Fort Pickens!!! So close to the pristine beaches and nice distance to local restaurants and activities. The mph to and from the campsite is possibly a little strangling. Most don't adhere due to it being extremely slow. I can understand some caution but it's extreme and I'm a senior citizen and think this.

The camping spots were wonderful and not cramped. The water and electricity worked as advertised. The only recommendation of issue is the dump station. The platform or parking area at the dump site should be higher than the drain to allow gravity to make the contents flow better. The current arrangement requires a lot of lifting of the hose to dump the contents.

Love ft Pickens. Great place to camp and go to the beach.

GORGEOUS and quiet beach areas. Long walk from the campgrounds but if you can drive to the smaller lots and walk in then the distance is short. Bath houses can get crowded and laundry was difficult with so many people staying there. Love the bayside area too, easy walk from Campground C. Stores are nearby and such a nice change from very busy Pensacola Beach area. Very serene as you cross into the park. Loved the history and great info from the guides. Items and bunkers from multiple wars.

The web site is messed up. This spot C-14 is for tent or RV, but the site will not let you make the reservation if you put any vehicles in, even reserving for tent. I could tell by the pic it was an rv site. They are losing money on this one and others, if they are this difficult to reserve.

Enjoyed the campground and scenery. Only issues were one of two dryers in laundry was OOC and caused backup in getting laundry done. Also the hosts in loop C were not very nice, kinda acted bullish.

If a white soft powdery beach that stretches in either direction as far as you can see interests you ....along with a very good clean campground with all the services you need - then Fort Pickens is a top choice to make an effort to visit. I stayed 1 week up.but I think at least 2 to 3 would be my preference next time.

It’s Lightly visited by day tourists (due to the National park fee, and its 9 miles from the closest town services -that makes these beaches with parking access not only Secluded, - but offers the best looking beaches in my opinion. Walk for miles on the beach if you want.

I love the wilderness feeling of the park in such close proximity to my home . Most noticeable traits were: cleanliness, well maintained, courteousness of the male employees, offerings in the gift shop and informative signage. The one female employee I encountered was rather rude and sour.

I always enjoy camping at Ft. Pickens. So much to explore...beaches, the fort, history, meeting new friends and fresh gulf seafood at the many local restaurants. I live in Pensacola, but this is still a home away from home location that I throughly enjoy and you will too.
