Great campground that accommodated our 35ft motorhome, granddaughter and her friend really enjoyed the lake.

Wow! I camp at a lot of different places and this campground was nice. Everything was very clean and well maintained including the bathrooms. The host was a worker! He cleaned every site when someone left including the bbq and fire pit. It was a bit windy while we were there so we didn't get to enjoy the lake by kayak as much as we wanted but that is the way it goes sometimes. Still caught a few trout from the shoreline and had a great time. If there was a negative, the water line in the campground had an issue prior to arriving which resulted in non potable water. The great thing about it though was rec.gov alerted us to the issue prior so we came prepared.

Gerle Creek was beautiful. The reservoir was so peaceful and the easy hike near the creek was scenic. The hosts were fantastic and the sites were well maintained. The first night we were there, there was a huge party next to our site that played loud music all night and kept LED lanterns on. The other side of us arrived after 9pm and had kids running around the trees and tents until after midnight. The host resolved it the second night but a night patrol after 10:30pm would be really great. Otherwise, we loved the site and hope to be back soon.

This off-the-beaten-path campground was much better than was expected. The facilities are very well maintained, and the sites are pretty nice. There are only a few sites that have reservoir views, but they are all pretty close to the water. The two short hiking trails around the lake are wide and very well maintained - almost wheelchair accessible. But to reach longer hike trailheads you must go at least 8 to 10 miles away. The little lake is great for swimming and kayaking, etc - but the water level changes daily by SMUD water district.

Great smaller campground. No boats on the water so kayaking is great. Places to hike and other lakes you can drive to.
