We were evacuated the first morning, so not a good trip. Of course this was due to the fires so no fault of anyone. Hopefully the campground will be there next year to enjoy.

Our experience was good as usual. I think the fire rings should be cleaned out more often as the ashes were very close to the top of the ring. Also it would be nice if the Hosts would check in when a camper arrives.

We were excited to bring our inflatable 3- person boat, and use it on the lake while camping at Sunset Union Valley. However, there was NOWHERE to launch our boat. One parking lot was limited to vehicles with trailers attached, so we couldn’t park there. Walking the boat to the water was impossible due to the steep terrain and many obstacles. So, we could only only observe the lake from afar. Consequently, we won’t be back. Quite a shame.

We have always loved Sunset Campground. The improvements have made the place just that much better.
